Australia to ban incandescent bulbs by 2010

Bright idea? Australia pulls plug on light bulbs

Sounds like a good move in principle and it's definitely motivation for lighting suppliers to sttart increasing their low-power and high-efficiency portfolios.

Our new house will not contain any incandescent bulbs when we move in - pretty much traditional fixtures for a new home build. We plan to install a lot of recessed fixtures (cans or pot lights depending where you are), but the plan is to stick with compact fluorescents and a traditional-lighting free home.

The home will be delivered as Energy-Star certified and we'll be trying to only improve on that.

Thanks in part to legislation in California there seems to be greater availability of products using CFL and that should only keep growing.

Has anyone installed CFL cans as recently as part of new construction, retrofit or remodel?
