I didn't see what he was talking about (I'm an electronic technician). After he left, the dishwasher did the same thing. A few weeks later (now out of warranty) they sent a different repaiman and he had to disassemble the whole dishwasher to get to the water heater. After many calls to Bosch, they covered it, but after many other problems we got rid of it and bought a Sears (Kitchenaid model) and has been working fine ever since. There's a web site with LG service manuals. I had a minor fix to the drum on our LG dryer which we bought scratch & dent. Easy to service.

Once upon a time I typed up a list of questions for helping select a machine....not all these pertain to you, but its worth clipping (anyone want to add anything?). I saved it in my clippings, public. Do you want a front loader (FL) or top loader (TL)? If you want a front loader, do you want an internal heater? If you donÂt know, please read the Laundry Room FAQ (insert link here). Where in the house will the washer be set up  second floor, basement, closet? What is the floor made of? What are your space configurations/confinements? Are you looking for undercounter units? How big a machine do you want? How many loads a week do you do or want to do? Do you have special laundry considerations like shedding pets, or young children in diapers? Do you have any problems now that you are hoping to solve with a new machine? How important to you is the loudness of the machine? Do you want controls on the top rear or front of the machine? Where are your hook-ups  washer on left/right, stackable? Are you looking for just a washer, and if not, do you need/want a matching dryer? What factors are most important to you: cost, reliability, performance, speed, water/electricity savings, controls (specify things like: water temp, type and amount of cycles, cycle times, spin speed, ability to open the machine and add chemicals or clothes)? How much do you want to spend? Do you have a preferred vendor  Sears, Best Buy, Independent retailer, Lowes/Home Depot (some may have deals going)? Have you called a few of the extended warranty companies to ensure they are within servicing distance?

If the electrical outlet has the typical three holes of any other outlet in your house it's a 120 volt outlet. An electrical dryer outlet is has a different receptacle setup. It's usually a dedicated line for the dryer (or electric range) that goes straight to the electrical panel and requires two 120 volt hook ups (from electrical panel to outlet).

Thanks for the information. I'm going to look into the Electrolux 60 models. BTW, my dryer is a gas dryer and I opted to get less features on the dryer than on the washer (mostly no steam) and saved quite a bit of money that way. On the other hand, it wrinkles my clothing! I still think I don't need the steam on either appliance, but I do need large capacity and a few other bells and whistles (especially sanitize) so I'll probably wind up with way more features than I'll want to use. If anyone else has a high recommend for another front loading brand besides Electrolux, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks again!
