Couple of Pics that I'd promised long ago....

Between crashing computers, lost battery chargers, totally dead camera batteries it's been a miserable 2 months. It's all together and running properly now so here are a few pics that I'd promised:

Matching chandies that I've had in storage for 3yrs finally up and grey LR ceiling (identical chandie and grey ceiling in Office across the hall). Fixtures were each $29.99 on clearance. DH said that I was unclear on the cord length when he cut the outlet plugs off so that is why there is a lenght of black cord showing. The message was fully clear when he hung th eoffice one!

Christmas Clearance trees - they positively glisten!

And DR chalkboard. The kids and my Dad love it! My dad always leaves messages on it when he visits:

Love it all, ttodd--- Mercury glass is such a wonderful combination of glam and antique :) Those trees are great finds, as are your lights. I will look forward to a lovely silvery display next Christmas!

Cindy: When your SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS blooms, do post a pic. I've got that one too from Curt but it is not a star performer here yet. Debra: This many blooms this late has to be due to the amount of rain we got over the past month. I don't recall this much showing at this late date. Mantis: yes, earlier pics of GEECHEE were better but just shows how much a late opening with cool temps can do to a daylily. Celeste: I've admired your pics of COUSIN SUZANNE. The race is definitely on here too! Linda and Kay: I'm so thankful to get these blooms this late in the season. I'm always on the scape hunt because I just never know what will show itself. KIOWA SUNSET has always been a favorite of mine. It is registered as a EE but here, it doesn't start blooming till early July and the scapes are taller than 23" as registered. Well, the weather turned and we are already up at 60 degrees F here this morning. Rain, rain, rain so I guess that is why our temps moderated. Julia

VERY lovely, Paul--you do have 'the touch' and I (as so many others have said) love the woodsy look and feel, too! I really wish my 'Frances Williams' would look perfect every year. I think I had one year, about 5 years ago, that it did! I cherish the photos I took of her that year, since she's never look so good since!!! Sigh! I do have an 'Olive Baily Langdon' and we'll see if she measures up to what I've loved FW for. I know I will love it that it doesn't get the ratty look, early on, like FW has a tendency to have! Thank you for sharing your woodland hosta garden with us!

Sandy, Love your gardens, your hostas are to die for and your flowers are so pretty. Love how you mix the shrubs, vines, flowers, ground covers, and hostas all together. I also love your statuary! I have a bunny garden and a cat garden. Your bunny with the carrots and those cats by the trellis are sooooo cute!!!! Wish I could find something that cute. We just don't seem to have them here in my area. Everything seems to be just ordinary here. Did you find them locally or buy them on the internet or maybe mail order? Great Gardens!!!

Laurie, My Pink Rosette is clean here for me in New Hampshire, but I can't vouch for it in your climate. Mine is completely disease-free with infrequent spraying (I spray when I remember to!). The one I have came from Chamblee's in Texas. So far, mine has been very vigorous and healthy...but keep in mind, my summers are short so I don't know how it does where summers are longer & hotter. Ha! You mean 'The accidents waiting to be run into'? They're going right back to the attic. A friend of mine had them at her house for awhile where we were using them for a bunch of showers that she held at her house. She just recently returned them but I don't have anywhere practical to go w/ them :/

I recently inherited one, so was wondering what to do with it....other than use it for a shower.

ttodd..everything looks wonderful. We had a wall sized white write on/wipe off board in our kitchen for years and years at our other house. The kids and DH loved it...it had been in his office. It sure served a lot of needs.

Now about those fabulous candelabrum...I can tell you my address and will pay shipping. They will be perfect in my house and I have just the mantle for them...:) c

Very nice!

Love the mercury glass - I bought many of those ornaments when they went on sale at PB before Christmas and gave them to all of my girlfriends and office staff. I didn't save any for myself though :-(

As usual, I love your rooms. I liked the thought that the candelabra were there to hold bits of chalk. They are the nicest chalk holders I've ever seen!

Well now I'm looking for something fancy schmancy to hold our chalk - thanks for the suggestion!
