Help! My new Bosch Nexxt 700 smells like it is burning!
Comments (8)Regarding the burning smell: Just like a new car has some pretty strong plastic and rubber odors, your Bosch washer is similar in that respect. The internal heater has a tendency to enhance the new plastic/rubber odors. This combined with a slight odor from the new tub drive belt, during high speed spin can be somewhat of a concern to a few customers. When I worked for B/S/H/, periodically I would receive calls from customers complaining of the plasic/rubber burning odor coming from their new washer; both AXXIS and NEXXT, but it never amounted to anything dangerous in the way of a fire hazard, just a disturbing odor. One customer received two AXXIS replacements, due to the burning odor. The replacement machines produced the same smell and I can only attribute it to the internal heater, which had a tendency to enhance these odors, of which some people are very sensitive. Our live showroom AXXIS unit produced this odor when new, with a reduction and finally an elimination of the smell over a few months of use. Some dealers took the so called problem machines back, due to a few customers unwilling to live with the smell on the short term, but you should notice a reduction in the odor over time. I do recommend having any machine with a burning odor to at least be checked/inspected by an authorized servicer for your own safety and peace of mind....See MoreMethod Laundry Detergent- I don't smell anything!
Comments (3)If you are used to the strong smell of Gain then the Method may be too subtle for you. Method is a natural product, not full of nasty chemical stinky stuff. I use the Free and Clear because I don't want any smell at all, but I suspect the smell remaining on the clothes from the other scents is faint, as you might expect a natural scent to be. I like my wet clothes to smell - well, wet - but what I really care about is that they are clean and I don't need to mess around with multiple soaps and additives. For me, the Method does the trick. Good luck with your laundry :)...See Morewill my new first floor laundry room have a "laundry " smell?
Comments (9)the basement laundry smell might have more to do with insufficient air movement ..... every basement i was ever acquainted with... lacked a cold air return at floor level ... so the furnace never really moved air down low .... leading to that wonderful basement scent ... maybe its just a MI thing ... but i am thinking upstairs.... you just arnet going to be dealing with that kind of dead air ... also.. if it does start bugging you ... something like a bathroom exhaust fan would be simple to install in the ceiling... unless you have a second floor ... also ... the dryer will be sucking air outside.. and it has to come from somewhere ... so it will probably exchange the air also ... one thought for sure.. i wouldnt close the door to the cubby while doing laundry .... good luck ken...See MoreFish emulsion/alfalfa tea, want to put on roses, smells like vinegar
Comments (4)I have a similar question. I made some alfalfa tea about a week ago and could not put it on the roses because it rained for 10 days. Now the beds are too wet to apply any more water. Do you think this alfalfa tea would be bad to use after it has brewed for over 2 weeks. Suebelle...See Moreazmom
