Owners of Thermador Columns - Question!
Comments (5)The ovens are GE Profiles - top is the Advantium 120 and the bottom is 27" convection oven. I stuggled with 27" vs. 30" - afraid the 30" would be too small, but 27" fit in better scale wise with the rest of the wall. After a year, including the big Christmas Meal for 40 - the 27" oven plus advantium has been just fine. Also, I love the advantium - it does it all - convection bakes, microwaves, warming function....it's the workhorse of my kitchen! At Christmas, while the Turkey was cooking below, I was able to stack the green bean casserole and sweet potatoes in the Advantium.... I am not a huge entertainer, but, I have found this combo to work just fine for our family of four and moderate entertaining. I was worried I needed two ovens plus microwave - but, this is working just fine if you have limited space for ovens like I did. Good Luck!...See MoreThermador Freedom freezer, ongoing probs
Comments (5)For future search purposes I wanted to follow-up. So the yokel with whom I'd spoken 7/19 in Thermador's customer service, who told me there are no supervisors, that they manage themselves, was wrong. He'd told me the only way I could potentially get help was to send an e-mail to a generic e-ddress. I immediately did and one week later rec'd a response saying "we cannot help you with that. You'll need to call the service center." So back to where I started. So I did just that. I called again and this time got a gal who thought it was hilarious I'd been told they have no supervisors, that they manage themselves. She said "how fabulous!" I gave her my spiel, inc. the day and time I'd made my initial call (because that person hadn't noted my call in my file, as is SOP @ Thermador) and she got on it tout de suite. Within three hours she called me back, saying she'd presented my case (inc. our continuing service issues with this unit) to her supervisor and they agreed to cover the cost of the new ice maker -- not the labor, but the unit itself ($300). Fine, great! Because I was ticked about the way we were initially treated by Thermador and the fact that we have had such ongoing, catastrophic issues with this freezer I wanted to share that with potential Thermador users. It is now only fair and right to let you know we had a satisfactory and fair result. Thermador did the right thing, and as we all know that can be quite rare .......See MoreThermador/Bosch/Miele Column Owners with please respond
Comments (11)Jaksopcam, Thanks for the photos. I saw your other posting as well. Something is wrong; the doors should fit flush. It appears that you need to buy a Thermador connecting kit if you want to truly mimic separate door panels. Otherwise, your option is to build a large door that is presumably connected by a single thin unifying piece of plywood. At $100 a piece for the connecting kit, it is probably cheaper to build them as one piece as Medallion did. I'd love to see a close up picture of the side to see how Medallion put together your raised panel doors for your refrigerator, given that I will have raised panel doors as well. Is there a way to private message (e-mail) someone on Gardenweb? That way you could send me a full size resolution of any photos. Best of luck to you on fixing the gap and finishing your kitchen. The columns look so good when they are fully integrated. Interestingly, the rumor is the next model of the columns will be far easier to install; however I also heard they may not be able to be completely flush. Being able to be completely flush seems to be the whole point so I would be stunned if Thermador took that feature away just so the columns could be installed more easily. Stei7141, I would love to see photos of your installation as well. I only have 8 foot ceilings and I am curious to know if you have 8 foot ceilings as well and how your tops will look above your Lieb and Thermador....See MoreQuestion on Thermador Freedom column installation
Comments (7)#2. do you have a dedicated water supply for the fridge? or are you adding a branch from your water supply under your sink? if the latter, put the shut off valve there. i dont have this fridge but i believe they indicate the area where the water supply line has to be (from the wall or floor) for it to be able to connect to the water line and for the fridge to sit flush/align with cabs. otherwise your fridge will jut out past the cabs OR you'll crush your water line when you push it back. ditto the electric receptacle. lets say you were replacing an existing subZ fridge with this thermador, if you want it to sit flush then you're going to have to move it from point A to point B area otherwise it'll stick out....See Moredianalo
