T shirts stretched out after washing

Hi all,

I moved out last year & started doing my laundry myself with my wife.

Can anyone explain to me why my T shirts were stretched to a MUCH bigger size than what it was before. It is strange enough that ONLY my T shirts were stretched. My wife's clothes were Perfectly done with no noticable stretching at all. They were put into the same cycle together. I suspected this relates to my T shirts material & how old it is. Well, they were both cotton material, & my wife's clothes seem to be a bit more delicate than mine.

I used a LG WM3431 Front Load All-in-One Washer / Dryer to do my laundry. High energy efficient detergent was used. Before, a normal cycle was used to clean ALL clothes. Since the stretching happened, different cycles & time was tried out.

Finally, a delicate cleaning cycle was selected recently, & situation improves to a certain degree. But I am concerned this may not be the answer.

Please advise if there are things that I can do to minimize the stretching again.

I do some guessing starting off with NO spark? Did you bump the ign switch? look for disconnected wire or faulty switch (on or off switch just like house light switch) either it on or off can check using mulitmeter across the connections of the switch). Did you mess with the spark plug??? Check the gap. lay removed plug on head connected to the spark plug wire, switch to on and pull the rope. With the spark plug grounding against the head (touching) and the switch on You shoud see Blue spark if you pull the rope fast enough???? I bet it getting spark but no gas. Try priming it with carb. cleaner (providing you are not flooding it (spark plug would be wet??? if wet it won't fire) either directly into the cylinder bore (through the spark plug hole or down the carb venturi (hole in the carb.) As suggested above need alot more information and condition (plug wet or not, plug gap good, ign switch good, priming, and anything else you can think of???)

Washing Dress shirts/pants?

I always wash my dress shirts in my Miele washer, either on the shirts cycle, which I think is called something else in countries outside of the U.S.A or on the perm press cycle. I hang everything even t shirts up as they come out of the dryer so most times no ironing is involved. The exception -- thin linen shirts. I send these straight to the professional cleaners who insist on starching them even while I say no starch. We have finally reached an understanding that when I say no starch I MEAN NO STARCH. I understand why they want to starch them because without starch they return to me looking like something I might have done myself..but that is the way I want them soft without starch. This year I bought wrinkle free linen shirts which seem to work OK in the washer. I wash wool using the wool cycle, and silk using the silk cycle, but do not wash 100% or 95% wool dress slacks in the washer...I they go to the professionals. I use PERWOL for wool and silk.

There are occasions when nice shirts are the appropriate thing to wear (either with non-jean pants or a skirt). Going to religious services, a funeral, a job interview, or to certain jobs. But I have a feeling that more people are just deciding to go casual (more casual than "Friday casual" at work) for even these things. One place you might check with to see if they're interested in the nice shirts are places that help women get back in the workforce by providing job-interview clothes. Not the traditional consignment shops -- Junior League clubs and the like sometimes have that as their project.
