Comments (1)I am not the best person to answer your questions, but I did want to tell you that while I've been happy with the capacity of my LG (I have a top loading HE, 3 years old), the rotor (motor part) has gone out two times. LG's customer service has been great though- they are sending a tech out next week to fix the rotor, and they did so the first time. The motor is covered for 10 years. One question is, how far out do you live? Can a tech get to your house easily? My feeling is that maybe SQ is easier to fix than LG, although I don't know. To get my LG fixed, I've had to use the repair people that LG contracts with. One thing you might do is ask the appliance people who you would have to get out to fix the LG if there are any problems (if you want to get it fixed under warranty). Same with SQ. How do you feel about the capacity of your Bosch? Go to You Tube and look at some videos of Speed Queen and LG- you'd be surprised at how many videos there are of people doing their laundry there! You can get an idea of how much a SQ can hold and see if it looks okay for you. The large capacity is nice for bedding and towels, but I don't have 6 kids :) Honestly though, I've been happy with the LG for large loads, but for small and medium loads, the washer seems to have to rebalance those loads all the time- which it does by adding more water and redistributing the clothing I think this wastes more water than regular top loaders! I also find the cloths get all tangled because there is no spindle in the middle. Maybe I have a lemon, I don't know if other machines do this or not. For my 2 adult household, this is more drum capacity than I need. Do you do all your laundry together, or separate into colors? The LG seems to do best if it's stuffed to the brim (at least in my machine, I can't speak for others). I'm currently looking at getting a SQ!...See MoreVery loud wall hammering noise when using my LG HE washing machine.
Comments (2)"Plumbers are taking my money and not fixing the problem" Why do you pay them if the problem isn't fixed? A large whole house arrestor may be required to completly cure the hammer. The machine isn;t at fault but you might try installing flow restrictors in washer hoses. They are cheap and diy friendly....See MoreMold and debris front end LG washing machine
Comments (4)My sister's 10 y.o. Frigidaire f/l washer had severe mold. 5 cycles with washer cleaner, two with bleach and a couple more to rinse didn't clean it. The gunk was pervasive. Wish I had known sparky's method with the Cascade which sounds like the only thing possible to get at it all. But still difficult on top and in folds. My brother ordered a new gasket for the washer. My two brothers replaced the gasket -- there is a You Tube video but it's much more difficult actually and it's a two man job. Fortunately, they are two big, strong guys. The new gasket is in but will take some time to normalize. There is now an issue with the door closing properly each time. That said, it was done, the washer is clean and no need to replace. Perhaps LG will sell you a new gasket....See MoreIdrmoflndryrm
