Well, it's one of those typical overscaled and oversized dark brown leather sofas, but it will feel more at home in a larger space. Fabric upholstery and leather upholstery can certainly co-exist, but each needs to be color harmonious with the other, which is always a challenge with dark leather pieces. Using colored pillows and throws will help the sofa get over its big brown-ness and if you use fabric upholstery with some texture or pattern which relates to the sofa and pillows/throws it will be a big help to tie everything together. Get a range of color and texture samples, bring them home and explore various options. Good luck!

Oh Price is flexible. I think the bassett is about 2600 for just the sofa. I don't know if I would get a full sectional or not.. We have been looking at sectionals but we are having a hard time finding one we like. We are replacing an england sectional that measures 21 deep and 20" high in the seat. We think that after using it we are incorrect in our seat depth. We are trying for at least 23 " deep if not deeper. Oh and I'm not in love with the looks of the club conway by bassett just the comfort. My home is very traditionally decorated with antiques closer to the style of the barcalounger jefferson sofa.

Let's see - should I buy a new sofa or repair my roof? should I buy a new sofa or fix my basement moisture issues? should I buy a new sofa or pay my taxes? should I buy a new sofa or get surgery that my doctor recommends? Your question is what sofa should I buy to put into a basement that regularly gets 1 to 2 inches of water. You should not buy a a sofa, you should call a contractor and find out what is causing you to get 1 to 2 inches of water in your basement and what it is going to cost to fix the problem. If you have money left over after fixing your water issues then you can buy a sofa without trying to buy something that won't get wet and won't mold when it does get wet. If you have no intention of addressing the water issue and don't mind if the structure of your home is compromised or your health is compromised then buy a sofa that is designed for outdoor use and is designed to get wet. Nothing designed for interior use will be water-friendly.
