caesarstone (or any slab) backsplash:any downsides (except cost)?

We're getting ready to build a new house.

In the old house (we're deconstructing with Habitat for Humanity) we had black granite counters with 4" slate tiles on diagonal for the backsplash.

In the rebuild, we're ready to go the opposite way with a very white kitchen. I'm just about settled on white cabinets with Misty Carrera Caesarstone counters. I think I'd like to run a slab up the wall for the backsplash as well.

Any downside to doing that? putting a 2cm thick slab on the wall seems excessive but is the look I'm interested in.
