Marble - Difference between distributors?
Comments (3)Hi Sunny, I know for sure with slabs there are different "grades" within each type of marble. If I remember correctly, slabs are graded by letter, A, B, C, etc. with "A" being superior. The problem is, ad I imagine it would be even more the case with tile, it can be hard to get an honest answer about what grade a slab is. A saleswoman at a local stone yard known among fabricators for lower quality (like C grade) slabs told me she had no idea what grade the slabs were when I asked. The places that carried high-grade slabs were obviously more willing to discuss it and to disclose what grade each slab is. A good fabricator can tell whether marble is of high quality based on pitting, etc., so if asking what grade the tile is doesn't work, maybe you can bring a few samples to a fabricator....See MoreHard water spots on honed Caesarstone?
Comments (1)Well, I have a granite counter top that is about the same age and having the same problem you are describing. The best solution I've come up with to date is to carefully use a razor blade to take the mineral deposits off (lay the blade at a flat-ish angle and run it across the surface gently). That alone does a pretty good job. I've also taken to occasionally mixing food grade diatomaceous earth into a paste with baby shampoo and polish it a little with that, since neither of those are particularly acid or alkali....See MoreSnowy Cliffs Quartz by Caesarstone. paint dilemmas
Comments (0)Building my new house three thousand miles away. Have chosen Snowy Cliffs for the kitchen and bathroom counters. Agonizing over paint colours. Not sure if it will work with my tiles. Can’t get a decent Photo of Snowy Cliffs. It just doesn’t translate to a photo Using Revere Pewter in great room and en-suite bath with the tile. Edgecomb gray also will be used White for cabinets and trim is between Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace, White Dove, Simply White and Oxford White Simply goes best with tiles and hardwood for floor but can’t tell if it works with Snowy Cliffs Any help would really be appreciated Hardwood is Georgian Classic. Comments (13)"That's quartz for you, a big chance for chips." This is myth. Engineered stone is 33% plastic, making it much stronger than natural stone. Certain natural stones are very chip-prone. Ever seen any mesh laminated to the back of an estone slab? Yeah, me neither. Chipping in any product is more a result of edge profile selection than any other factor....See MoreRelated Professionals
