I started a map of KT'ers on Mapme.com...if you want to list your location...feel free...ya just have to register!!

I don't know what she's doing, MaryAnn, besides trying to play keep-away with Nosey Parker! She keeps telling the kitten that she is NOT a plaything and does not want to be eviserated. :) I found my notes- Necci was gone for over 4 years on her trip! No wonder we were both worn out when she got home. lol

It's very close -- maybe 7-8 miles as the crow flies, but the trajectory is south, not east/northeast towards me -- a couple of ridges and a creek and a river and a couple of "major" local two-lane highway (Hwy 9, 236) also break the path. Basically, if the fire gets to Boulder Creek and me, half the town will be gone. I can't see that happening, at least not tonight or tomorrow. A remote smaller fire last year just over the ridge, which did not get widely reported, had me more in a tizzy about evacuating...I had the cat carriers out, fire safe in the car, important files in the car, and a gym bag with a couple changes of clothes, as well as a few things for the cats (litter, food, etc.), and a few things for me as well. Not that it would make much difference because my house is at the peak of a canyon/creek "chimney", I did have quite a bit of fire break/ tree clearing done once I kicked the soon-to-be-ex-not-so-DH outta here. He would never do it since he prunes trees for a living and didn't want to "sacrifice" trees at home as well. 'Nuff said... Here's a current fire map, with a little yellow dot at the top right/center showing approximately where I am.

Here's the north west side of my kitchen. I was very ill for a while; a friend came over to help me finish clean all the cabinets. How this for a conglomeration of "stuff" from the cabinets. The yellow paper taped to the inside door of the pantry cabinet is my road map. I keep a list of items that are kept in the far back of the cabinet. Some day I won't have a phone line strung across walls, over doors, and along back splashes to reach the phone. All the brooms and mops hung on the wall? Their new home will be in the living room / broom closet ... if it's ever finished.

OnAHolliday, I'm sure the weather forecasters love people like you! LOL They can get so dramatic in their presentations. I know what you mean, though. I used to find thunderstorms and major snowstorms exciting.....until I had to experience them alone, and be responsible for the house and pets all by myself.....and until the house down the road was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. Plus in recent years the world has had a big increase in severe weather-related phenomena. I find it getting less exciting all the time. :-)

I finally figured it out. Click on the link above, click the edit button on the map site and you can add yourself, its a bit tricky.

I just added myself too. At least I think I did. The map shows me below (south) of Carol who lives south of me. But what the heck we're both in So. California!! ~LOL~
