what i know and its not enough lol, is nectarine is a baby doll/human whos sent around to stay with us all, if im not mistaken flamey started it. i apologize ahead of time if im giving credit where its due..shes cute tempramental..but loves travel. sorry thats all i can say. probably didnt help ya very much did i? oh and if i remember correctly shes a trickster, like flamey lol (no offense intended). now please dont go on my word she was here when i came to the kt lol

Several years ago, Flamingo handmade a KT Mascot. Flamey put a lot of time and work into Necci. She made clothes for her, shoes and all sorts of stuff...even a diary. Necci was sent from one KT'er to another all over the KT land. She was allowed to stay about a week with each family. She was taken on car rides, horse rides, played in parks. Pictures were taken and posted of Necci's journey. Necci spent a LOT of time in folks bottles of "good stuff". She was caught drunk and passed out in a few places! lol

When it was time for her to depart, she was packaged very carefully in her own traveling box, and sent on her way! Most folks hated to see her go! Seems like it took a year or longer for her to complete her travels, and it took Flamey a few months to get her home from Germany, but she eventually made it back home to her Mom, with a diary of all the places she'd been and the things she'd done.

Flamey can probably tell you more about her..no telling what Necci's told Flamey that Flamey can't share because it's probably XXX-rated!! lol

Wasn't there also a 'problem' with Necci flirting with the husbands? lol Also if memory serves, there was a website telling about her adventures. Flamey hasn't posted any pictures of her lately.

My favorite of her adventures was when she was arrested for stealing money out of the till at a grocery store.
The police were there and she was even pictured hancuffed on the patrol car. It was hillarious.
And yes, she has a wandering eye, and will try and flirt with all the husbands. She was smitten with quite a few of them.
Her adventures were wonderful, I looked because I thought I had the link. But I don't. Does anybody happen to have it?

A KT mascot doll was the brainchild of Casey and Longtail(Zeeterra), I merely offered to make her. The original concept was for something flat, like a Flat Stanley doll, which in retrospect, would have been a lot smarter and easier to handle for everyone. Nectarine had her own travel box that was designed just for her and took hours to make so that everything fit just so and didn't shift around during transit and wouldn't squash her. Even with all the care that everyone took of her, she still didn't really travel well and had to come "home" many times so I could spruce her up and replace her hair and make her a new outfit or two. (Wool hair clumps something awful and after about 3 visits, it would look awful and there wasn't a thing anyone could do with it besides replace it. That was a huge mistake on my part and also one of the reasons she no longer travels. And she had surgery too, a rod was inserted in her neck to help keep her head from flopping around. There went all my Vicodin!) I would also clean out her box of souvenirs she picked up, make a new box if the old one was getting too worn out, and press her clothes. I think I did this 3 or 4 times.

Nectarine was gone for over 2 years, traveling. She did the US (including to 2 get-togethers) Canada, Bermuda, New Zealand and ended up in Germany but we didn't see any photos of that trip. In fact, she went several places that we never saw any photos of. And keeping her moving was a chore. I nagged a lot and sent a lot of emails and still it was hard to keep her going.

Casey graciously hosted a website for Necci and eventually due to lack of space, had to let it go. She spent a lot of time on it, too, and I really appreciated that. She had a map of her visits and everything. People would send her the photos they'd taken and she'd upload them and make a page for each visit, it was a lot of work for her.

If Facebook had been around back then, it would have been fun for her to have a page, but she's done traveling now. It just got too time-consuming and I got tired of nagging and pushing people to move her along and it pained me to see photos of her when her hair looked awful so when she finally made it home after her last trip, I decided she was done gadding about unless I could chaperone her. She's gone to FL a couple of times with me, fought off a shark attack, hit on guys at the beach, had an encounter with a pirate, etc. Now if anyone wants a visit with her, they have to come see me! I will personally guarantee that your husband's virtue will remain intact, however I can not vouch for the security of your liquor or meds. I'll be happy to show you her travel journal and all the cool souveniry stuff she got from her friends. She had a blast, I know that. And a few scary encounters, too. I remember a tattoo was threatened and she got struck by lightning and her hair turned white for a while! lol

I hope you all understand why she's not visiting anymore. A doll like this just doesn't travel well. If someone was to make a Flat Stanley-type doll and mail IT around, I bet you could have just as much fun with it as we did with Necci.

Thanks for filling us in on the details. It's obvious that you and Casey worked very hard to share Necci's adventures with her KT family and equally obvious why she's had to retire from her more flamboyant traveling days.

I think we should do a flat Stanley type doll. It would be fun. Anyone good at making tough paperdolls?

Flat Stanley could be made of paper, then laminated and sized to fit in a standard envelope or one larger. My grandson made one and we still have photos of his travels in Arizona. I think the lamination process would keep him/her clean and should last a long time. Anybody have any ideas?? Bettye

I wonder what it is??? Several here have Nectarine on their mind, and yesterday I was riding with my DIL and out of the blue, she ask me about Nectarine. Strange..... She hadn't ask anything about her in several years.

I found my notes- Necci was gone for over 4 years on her trip! No wonder we were both worn out when she got home. lol

I think Nectarine's visit with Murphy was the ultimate! She shoplifted, was arrested, became a nun, and was struck by lightening, all in one visit.
