So Denise, is yours a bush or a climber? It's a bush/climber hahaha. Yes it's very healthy with minimal attention from me. It is a very rigid cane climber and because it didn't look attractive that way I cut the tall canes back so it's now a sort of bush, not terrible leafy but always in bloom. Now I know that I typed up a response to this thread but apparently never posted it. Sherry, I really, really enjoyed reading the story that accompanied your gift. You put together an amazing package for Jayne. I'm so glad you sent her a pizza stone. I know that she will get a lot of use out of that. Nothing special planned. Too much turmoil in our lives right now with a lot going on. It's OK. We are, however, taking me to the ice cream shop for a bowl of Hudsonville peppermint ice cream tonight in celebration. (It's my all-time-world favorite ice cream flavor and brand.) That will make me very happy.

Thank you everybody! I had a great birthday. Hubby is out of town and won't be back until Sunday. So, my good friend and "sister" Peppi came down last night and brought steaks, potato salad, and wine, and cooked for me. It was great. Then today we called Karen (lakemayor) and she invited us over for lunch (a gorgeous quiche and wonderful marinated salad). We ate her yummy food and she took us out on her lake. All in all a very relaxing and fun day. And thanks to all of you who sent me a card and called me, and thank you Ilana for the beautiful handmade gift! You guys are all great people and friends, and it made turning 60 (NOT 80 you witch, Linda)much easier to bear.

Yea! I so wanted to be there (and I tried) but I knew Sister Peppi was going to take great care of you! And a bonus of visiting Karen.

Hooray, I just knew Peppi was going to visit, and Karen is a double bonus!

What a beautiful day to spend on a lake, too, I can just see it now, Sherry and Peppi zooming around in tubes with drinks in each hand, pulled by Karen's boat. (grin) Hey, it's a great mental picture....

I couldn't let my sister have her special day without a celebration! And Karen helped make it even better with a great last minute lunch,(sorry about that, you do great under pressure) a boat cruise and the neighbor with his entertainment. Complete with a toga! What a hoot!

Linda, you brat, you promised not to tell her age but she does look dang hot for 80! Oh, wait the temp was 80, not Sherry......

Sherry, I'm so pleased that I was lucky enough to spend the day with you and Peppi. It made it just that much better that it was your birthday. I hope you enjoyed your special day at our home. And, as for the neighbor, he told me after you left that he really wanted to wear his Pope hat for you but wasn't sure that it would go well with the toga. LOL Pray for me living next to him.
