What to do with 3 huge boxes of graham crackers

(the kind you buy at Costco), 3 bags of marshmallows and 22 slabs of Hershey's

Left overs from DD's graduation party. She bought them to make s'mores with 100 friends. They ate most of the marshmallows cooked over the bonfire but the rest.... well I was going to freecycle them but if you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them.

Crush up the crackers, bag, freeze for use in cheesecake, ice box pies, cookie recipes.

Marshmallows??? Make rice crispy treats and give them away to day camp, vacation bible school, day care center?

Hershey bars - freeze them, very well wrapped.

Call your city youth summer camp and see if they will take all of it!

You could make an icebox cake with them. Just put frosting (or stabilized whipped cream) between them and frost the top. The layers are pretty when you cut slices of it, and softens the cookie into a cake-like texture.

Maybe you should make your own. :) My sister made some when she was in highschool. Very strange consistencey, but tasty, and definitely higher in fiber than what you bought at the store. Graham crackers spread with thimbleberry jam is marvelous....add some peanut butter and yummy....but then I tend to make graham cracker/peanutbutter/chocolate chip sammiches. :)

I wouldn't do it Wen. What I have read in the last year I've been learning this is that when you start putting in starches--bread, rice, oatmeal, etc--you start asking for problems. On top of that, you have sodium and other stuff in those crackers. I won't say it will kill your worms, but I cannot tell you how many people have passed through this forum and others like it reporting that they have killed all their worms. I have stuck to fruits, vegetables, egg shells, tea bags, and coffee grounds. (rejecting only lemons). I have never once killed off my worms. I have more than enough fresh scraps as it is without cleaning out the cupboard too. In fact, whatever it is that I do differently, it is so effective that it makes this whole vermicomposting thing seem easy. I'm not judging anyone who has a mass die off for whatever reason. I'm just saying that if you don't go looking for trouble, it's a little less likely to find you.

Well I've decided to try Windmill cookies. They have partially hydrogenated vegetable oil which is bad but use corn syrup (last ingredient) instead of HFCS. Lord its no wonder people just give up in reading ingredients. You can read them all day but it doesn't change your choices any:) I chose these because the graham crackers all seemed to be cinnamon honey based it I think gc's these days tend to mush really easy. There was one store organic box (Meijers) that used molassas. The Windmill cookies are really crunchy, have a good strong molassas flavor and also have almond chips which might boost its nutrition value (microscopically probably:) Since I've never made key lime or any pie with a gc crust I don't have anything to compare it too. Well see what the folks at work think.

I looked at getting Honey Maid graham crackers from Amazon Fresh. They have them, but according to the comments they're not the real deal. Reduced size and people don't like them. The reviews for Annie's are worse. They don't have any alternatives that look better. The reviews for Nabisco Classic and Amazon's Happy Belly are mixed. TJ's discontinued the good ones, and what they have now look like they're from the big makers and have just awful reviews--worse than the rest. I'm not making my own just to make crust. The new graham crackers don't even look good in pictures. They're the wrong color and look dry. Ugh! I'm sorry, Olychick, but I'm not doing it.

Invite the neighbors in for more s'mores....and as TeresaNC said....crush up the graham crackers and freeze for pie crusts and crumbs....the chocolate? freeze some, eat the rest....

Freeze some of the graham crackers but those boxes would make more graham cracker crumbs than most people could use in years. Look at the expiration date, maybe they can "hang around" fora while. Freeze the chocolate but once again huge quantities. Giving away sounds good to me.
