Not what you are asking for, but WalMart has Battenburg Lace-style curtains that are lovely. I ran across them when I was looking for a lace to put on the window of my front door.
They are 36 inches long. It would be a simple sewing project to hem them from the top.

Below is what I really really want, but they don't have the width for the D.R. tiers.

I used to make all of my curtains but I don't have a sewing machine anymore.

The material below will give you an idea of what I want. Plain design and not too lacy.

I lean more towards french country now.

If you sew, I don't understand what the issue is...same process to alter the ready-made curtains, but use glue instead....fabric glue or stitch witchery or paper backed iron on stuff...lots of alternatives to thread and stitching. And that stuff they make now really holds well.

It looks to me like you buy the center part of the valance and you can add as many of them as you need to get the width of the window, then add the swags on the ends. If it gets them too wide, you can just cut and glue. Or if it's that the swags are too long, then just cut off the outside edges and hem the sides...

Annie, the issue which I stated above is that I don't have a sewing machine any longer. I'd rather they be sewn with a machine for better seams.

take them to a dry cleaners that does alterations and have them sewn.

I've actually met with a lot of success using glue and such for curtains, esp when I don't want the stitching to show...its very strong...ive used it to attach braids to valances and such. When i was making the veil, i tested some glued on crystals and was amazed at their holding power.

But the dry cleaners or a tailor is a good alternative. I've often wondered if you can rent a sewing machine...say like where they sell them or hold classes and pay by the hour or some such thing to use them...though I suppose buying a used machine can be cheaper. Or you can bug a friend who has a machine...

The woman who owns this shop will do custom work. She has redone some large pieces for me to create smaller (for the US) curtains for me. She has reworked antique material for me as well to incorporate it into larger curtains than those used in many French windows. You can also find her on Etsy.

There is also a shop in Paris that sells new brise-bise curtains, but I will need to find the receipt. Let me know if you want me to look for it.

Thanks everyone. I may have to go custom. I really want the fabric to be like the one I showed in my link above. Not too frilly. I found one tier I like from Country Curtains and thankfully it's one of the tiers they can custom sew. But not sure about the kitchen valance. I'm going to call them this week.

I need a bit of weight to the curtains. I've seen in person what I want in a friends house who lives in another city, and hers are pinch pleats. Darling!

Times like this isn't fun living in the country!
