Browsing comforters on Ebay, saw this and you immediately came to mind. Colors are so pretty but it just wouldn't fly in my room. :/

Oh, that is just gorgeous! My favorite colors, and it looks so much like a Mexican saltillo blanket! Now, if I can just convince my kittens to keep shredding my current comforter ... heh heh.

Are you still mothering the rescue kittens? Or is that your regular brood you're referring to? Or are the rescues now incorporated into the regular brood, lol? (That can happen in a blink ;D )

I really like that bedding, and so wish I could make it work in my bedroom. Prices are good on Ebay for RL compared to retail. But that style would look like it just came out of nowhere in my house.

I say train those kitties well! ;)

Hey! I like it! I haven't thought of my laundry room much as of late but this has my wheels turning again. I would like to make a neutral liner (maybe I'll get fancy with the toile trim) for my basket. It's oval in shape and I'm not sure how to go about making it. I bet I can find something on YouTube. LOL Pal, Mustangs and Catkin are too funny. I do like this idea but prefer the way I store my tissue.In the master bath it's in a clear canister with silver top removed from the box and placed as they placed the tissue in these pots. In the half bath it's in a woven basket where it's easily grab-able.

I also wanted to give you a recipe which we love here. My measurements are sloppy but have my faithful pumpkin seeds included! 1.5 cup or so ground pumpkin seeds 1/2 cup or so ground flax 4 eggs 2 finely shredded medium carrots large handful unsweetened coconut 1/2 cup applesauce 1.5 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp cardamom, 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/2 cup or so raisins 1.5 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup olive oil or any oil any addition of chia seeds, nuts, etc I think that is it. I add contents as I remember them as it isn't fussy like regular recipes. I bake at 350 from 35-45 minutes. Not sure what happened with the spacing here....

I bought that comforter off of ebay and it is gorgeous. It is so thick and luxurious. When it came I realized that all of my decor was too light to use with it. I really thought out of all the Southwest things I have that I could make it work. I was so shocked and unhappy. When I bought it, it was a no return! So, I put it on the bed to look at it and decided that there was no way it would work. I folded it up and put it back in the zippered bag. I listed it again on ebay (with the matching decorator pillow) and have several responses, but no final offer. I guess I will offer it again and try to get some of my money out of it.

The good news is that I found another RL on ebay that is called Hawk Springs serape and it works great. It is more pastel and is even more Southwest decor than the High Desert one. So, I splurged and bought it. I really love it, except am not to sold on the bedskirt and two king shams that I bought in a seperate auction. They are the ones that RL put with it, but to me they don't look right. I am planning to change the bedskirt to a neutral. The coordinating ones are called Red Stripe or something like that. They are a pinky red. I also splurge on the second one and bought three of the Euro shams for my king bed. I can't seem to make them work. I have the three of them and two king shams.

I think the problem is that the Euro shams were designed with the new TALL headboards in mind. Mine is not all that tall and I think that is the problem. I am looking for pillows to coordinate with the set.

Do you have any pics of king beds and the use of pillows on them?

Hey Aunt Jen, if you are in the market for that comforter in a king, let me know. I will make you a good deal and would be happy to do it through ebay in a private auction so you would feel safe. It is really beautiful.

I'd love to see some pics of your SW rooms.

Here is a link to the Photobucket pics of my bedroom so that you can see the RL Hawk Springs serape comforter. Please excuse the bed, I was trying to get pictures to show to someone about the height of the headboard. I would love to raise it up higher, but don't know what to do to achieve that. It is attached to a metal bedframe.
