16# turkey done in 2 hours???

We found a 16# turkey at Ralphs yesterday and decided that we would barbeque it today. I got the fire started in the Big Green Egg about 12:30, and by 1:30 I put the turkey in to cook. I basted it frequently and kept track of the temperature, which stayed around 450 degrees, after starting out briefly at around 550 degrees. Anyway, the turkey got brown very fast, which is why I basted it often, but I expected it to take 3-1/2 to 4 hours to cook. At two hours, it looked like the photo below, but I neglected to take the temperature, as I thought two hours was way too short. At 2-1/2 hours, I took the temperature, and it was 185 to 195 degrees everywhere I checked! I'm wondering if I ruined it or if it will be extremely dry. I rubbed it with Kosher salt the day before and left it unwrapped in the fridge in the garage overnight. I rubbed it with olive oil before roasting it and basted it with sprays of water and more olive oil.

I'll post a photo of the 2-1/2 hour picture later - I haven't cut into it yet because none of the rest of the meal is ready yet. I put potatoes on the grill at 4:00 (thinking the turkey would be ready at 5:00, and I have corn to put on in a few minutes. Lastly I will make garlic toast, if the coals have not gone out.

This is just the second time we've used the BGE, and I'm wondering if it cooks things faster than I am used to.

How long would you cook at 16# turkey?
