I would have snapped the table up in a minute too. Great buy. A fold out table like this will come in handy for so many things. It amazes me how some CL lists have so many interesting items, but mine leans towards very little other than RTA junk.

Wow, great buy! I'd love to find something like that (but taller) for our breakfast nook - a 40" round is just a little too small for 4 people, but I want something I can tuck out of the way when not in use.

Very nice find! Obviously meant to be in your fine care : ) I've been dreaming of a fold-out style table recently, too -- so the table size I dream of doesn't take up the whole darn room at all times, lol.

All I've ever seen on this CL is reaaally bad. Too boring to even browse! The most interesting things are just the typos or ads themselves, ha. They really did a nice job on the ad for that table.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed looking and the story behind getting it. Nice to hear that we're not the only ones that have this happen on the way to a great deal. Not sure why, but looking at my hubby's face when he realized what he did made me love him all the more!
It looks like all I'll need to do to it is rub on a bit of Old English. Considering our two year old grandson will be rolling his little cars on it it wouldn't make sense to do more at this point.
We'll have to wait on more photos. I had a dental appointment this morning and shopped for a few hours so the rooms not ready for it yet. I'll have hubby help me measure the room so I can play around with furniture layout before I attempt to bring it in the room. I can't wait to get it in there though. Owen will be here in about an hour.

Squirrel, forgot to tell you that I did the "ad" just for fun to post it. Saves time since I posted it to more than one place. I do all my CL ads that way though. Just helped our daughter sell her sofa on CL SanFranBay area CL with the following ad. I get lots of attention and have had no trouble selling anything quickly. Usually gone with-in a day unless weather gets in the way.

If you keep it folded up when Owen is there the "inside" (larger table top) will stay nice!

I'd like to know how to do the ads too, since it looks like I will have things to put on CL (sold my TV, but not a bite on the TV stand and audio pier so we took them to Goodwill).

Squirrel, those photos were from the Shops clearance room so the tags are real. I just added the insets of them in full size so they could be read. I take pictures of pretty much everything. I was happy I had these since the sofa was in her garage since she moved in with two friends that had furniture that fit the two living areas better than this set did. Katie and I made friends with the young lady that bought it and when I visit Katie next we are going to meet her in San Jose for lunch. Oh I also took care of all the emails for Katie since I have more time.
ajsmama, I'm not worried about Owen ruining it. I doubt he'll hurt it more than what I can take care of. I basically bought it with him in mind. He loves to run his cars around tables or my desk so I figured he'd have a ball with something this big at his level!
bobandmel and ajsmama, I use Windows Paint program to make the ads. This is another add I did. I got close to twenty requests to buy it within a very short amount of time.

I want to check CL's rules. If it's not against their rules I'd like to make a business of doing these and handling the emails for others that are too busy or just don't want to mess with the emails for things. Just not sure how I'd work out the pay unless it was done through paypal and not everyone has that that uses CL. Just another pipe dream of mine. Can you tell I love making these ads? LOL

Becky, I stopped in local furniture store today looking for sofa table, as soon as I walked in the door I saw the matching sofa table to your coffee table! So it's pretty new, the sofa table was marked $455 "but we're having a reorganization sale, so it would be less than that." I didn't ask how much since leg style doesn't fit my FR or LR (did find one for $260 that would look good in my LR but still thinking unfinished might be better - no veneer). Just thought you'd want to know what a steal you got even though it was $2 more than the ad price LOL!

Oh my gosh ajsmama! I knew it looked like a great piece, but I feel even better now! Makes that extra two dollars seem all the more worth it. :P

I agree about getting unfinished if you go new. Have you been checking Craigslist too?
