Wow! The Eagles beat the Giants and now we only have to get past Arizona to go to the SuperBowl. An Eagles/Steelers Super Bowl would be perfect!

My second favorite team is the Steelers. I am watching them win right now. They have the best fans.

Well, we probably shouldn't get started on the whole hunting vs non-hunting thing because it is too complex and volatile a subject. HAVING SAID THAT,if someone asked me what my stance was it would be simply this: I MIGHT be pro-hunting if everyone who hunted my property first filled out,in detail, a questionnaire completely profiling both their hunting ability and what level of awareness/respect they had for the animal and the life they were about to take. Only through this process of selection and elimination would I allow people to hunt my land, but since that is basically just a pipe dream, and since I know too well the reality of what kind of people hunt near me, I generally utter the word "hunter" with a curled upper lip. The sadness of this situation is that, once again, it's due to human intervention that the predators are no longer here, the deer are everywhere in unnaturally inflated numbers, and the ecosystem is starting to show the strain. And by the way, Scandia...I had a similar experience with a hunter myself in my own woods. A hunter, a man I know, levelled his shotgun at my chest about seven years ago. I was less than 35 yards away and wearing a fuschia colored sweatshirt because I didn't own any blaze orange. When he realized what he had nearly done he said he almost peed himself. I had always been indignant about the blaze orange rule...it was my property and there wasn't anyone allowed back there so by golly I was going to wear whatever I pleased. I learned a valuable lesson from that...I might have been right, but I would still have been dead. Now when I patrol my property I assume I am about to confront Larry, Darryl and Darryl and they all have coke-bottle glasses and can't see past ten yards AND I WEAR BLAZE ORANGE.

Stay away from A series. I'm going to replace 13 windows in my 60 year old cape. New sideing also going to be put on so I'm going with new construction windows. Started last fall with one Anderson A series window just to get a handle on how the project was going to go. Thank goodness I only ordered one window. My A series window is a nice looking unit with good features but when I lock it the sashes seperate instead of coming together, 5/32 of on inch on the sides and 3/16 of an inch in the middle. Pictures are available on DIY chatroom, I hope link below works. Go to Windows and Doors then to Anderson 'A' series window. There is no air leakage between the sashes but for the premium price of this window I don't think this is right. So far Anderson's response has been to replace the sash lock. which made absolutely no difference. My next 12 windows will be Marvins which by the way are $100 less expensive. Area Anderson Rep. has been useless, DIY posting got responce from Anderson factory rep. that has gone ok but I don't expect problem to be resolved. Here is a link that might be useful: DIY chatroom

Thank you for your response, cheradk. We have 4 sets of Frech doors, but they are the only items that are not Eagle, they will be Anderson Architectural. If not for Eagle, I would have probably gone with Marvin but the price and final product difference was significant. Anderson (and thus Eagle) are not well known here in Montreal. Marvin is quite strong here and does have a very good reputation though. For about the same money as the other companies, I have the following additions which were not included by Marvin and the others. -Maple and Douglas fur wood, instead of Pine. -All windows and doors are pre-stained -All Jams are included and stained at the factory. -Upgrade to Pewter hardware on first floor and master -One piece arched French doors. The other companies were going to use a transom. This was the main deciding factor. These 4 sets of doors are all on the faÃ§ade of the house and we very much liked the look without the transom. When the other companies quoted this way the price shot up beyond belief.

Since the Cowboys and the Texans are out, my next 2 choices would be the Steelers and the Eagles. I don't know which of the two I would be pulling for as I like them both.

Could be a Steelers / Eagles Super Bowl! Bragging rights in the state of Pennsylvania!

Now since I see some Pa based readers of this thread I have to say I'm FED UP with that Joe Buck doing our broadcasts. I watched him doing the World Series and his speech and body language showed his disappointment, and moreso the ratings-hungry TV networks, that a combination of the Mets and Yankees / Red Sox were not playing. The Rays should be insulted as well. His father Jack did the play by play the same no matter who was on the field.

It looked like the Giants were getting the majority of the good spots as far as where the ball was downed at the end of a play. The ref's ever picked up a flag after callinh an interference penalty on a Giant DB when their coach compained. How often does that happen?

OK I'm off the soap box. All I want is some even handedness.

I don't even like football much...but Larry does! He wants to see the Steelers get a 6th ring!He's hoping for a PA Superbowl too.

Ahhh, I am so sorry there is going to be so many dissapointed peeps on the KT.

Softball, I totally agree with you, I cannot stand Joe Buck, he is so biased. He was horrible with the Phillies and he has been awful with his comments for the Eagles too. As I said before - GO EAGLES!!

All four teams my family likes are out, but I do have a backup team. My favorite team is the Colts, my sons love Tampa Bay and the Dolphins. Hubby is a Giant fan in the biggest way. So...now I will root for both the Cardinals and the Steelers. I like them both and would be happy if either team won.

Oh I don't know what I'll do if it's the Steelers vs the Eagles. I grew up in Pittsburgh and my maiden name is Rooney. But I've lived in the Philly area for 35 years and my kids are Eagle fans. It would be wonderfully exciting though.

I have a question - if the mayors of Philly and Pgh were to make a gentleman's wager what would they bet?

I could see Philly betting cheesesteaks but I'm not sure what the Pittsburgh mayor would offer. A case of Iron City? Maybe I've been gone too long but I can't think of a food that's as synomious with Pittsburgh as the cheesesteak is to Philly. My son suggested Heinz ketchup packets!

Joe Buck isn't half as biased as Aikman. Troy-boy (as we called him when he was with Dallas) is so anti-Eagles....

Pittsburgh ?? Probably a case of Iron City beer.

The Phillies won the World Series earlier this year.

The Eagles winning their first Super Bowl would be INCREDIBLE, but it would be very cool if both titles were in Pennsylvania, even if the *ugh* Steelers had to do it. :-)

yes, Rendell is a big Eagles fan. I guess mayor Nutter will have to spring for another parade if we (Eagles)winn it all. It should be interesting.
