MelaPower HE: It's finally here!!

I have not been on this forum for a while. But after years of requests, Melaleuca has finally come out with an HE version of MelaPower. I ordered the scent free version. I just did my first load in my He4t today (normal, colored, cold, skin-care rinse) and I am very pleased with the results so far. The load seemed cleaner than usual (though no particular stains to test) and very soft. Previously I had been using Charlie's soap, both powder and liquid, and I did not expect the MelaPower load to feel this soft. Of course it's too soon to review it. Anybody else try it yet?

I've never heard of it. Is this in a powder or liquid form? How well does it rinse out of the clothes?

I have only done that one load of clothes (mostly tee shirts) and a second load of towels. The towels are definitely a little softer than with the Charlie's, not stiff, so it seems like it rinses well., But the only is, it is "unscented" but when I took the wet towels out of the drier, to me there was a scent, sort of a neutral, masking scent, whereas with Charlie's it seemed like no scent at all.

But if you don't belong to Melaleuca you have to pay more. When you belong to Melaleuca you have to order a certain number of points but the stuff is cheaper.

Marcia, thank you so much for the warm welcome! And I'm certain I'll be contributing to posts here and there. You mentioned in another post about the tufted titmice... they are absolutely my favorite bird! So sociable and seemingly fearless of humans! Lately, there's been one that keeps landing on my head! Almost every afternoon for the last 3 weeks! I wear my hair short, blonde and spiked, and I keep wondering if it's checking it out as a nest, but titmice are cavity nesters, so maybe it just wants my hair for the nest? Or maybe it's just immensely curious. At any rate, sometimes it will stay on my head for 5 minutes, walking all around and even climbing down and nibbling on my ear. Of course, I feel highly honored! I always pay close attention to your posts because you and I are in the same zone. After too many years away from gardening, I recently got reinspired and am absolutely thrilled with all the online assistance via forums like this. I look forward to continuing the learning experience and the fun shared on this forum! Thanks again, Marcia!

We are spending the afternoon having the Great Debate - to clear or not to clear the driveway. There is about 3" of snow out there, and sleet coming down. If we clear, then the sleet will hit bare madacam, and freeze into a skating rink. If we don't clear, then we'll have crunchy but driveable snow, but a real mess if we get more snow on top. The current decision is to do nothing, and see if it stops precipitating later in the afternoon. It's long past what the snowblower can deal with, so anything will have to be done by shovel. For a big storm, this one is a little pussycat. We aren't having power outage weather, unless somebody slides into a pole. The roads were jammed yesterday, but everybody seems to be staying home today. I'm trying to get a baby afghan finished before Christmas

Lynne...looks like there will be 'Two' of you who will be thankful on Thanksgiving >> You for finding Mr Turkey, and Mr Turkey... for having a Home for Thanksgiving!! He is cute and has great color to him. With that spoon slot, he might be a 'gravy boat'. Any way you use him, he will look right at home on your table. The leaf dish is very pretty too and the colors match your turkey. I see you put a votive in the gold goblet which is a great idea and looks nice too. I think it will give a nice 'glow' when it's lighted. Your centerpiece came out lovely and looks like it was waiting for the 'accessories' you just brought home. Go PACK! I'm making a bean dip and going to a bar where we all bring in food. It's a small hometown bar. There's also talk about a friend having a party so we may do that instead. I don't much care where I watch it as long as the Pack win and Aaron Rodgers stays healthy and injury free. We need him for next year.

Sorry--I forgot to say it was a liquid. It only comes in liquid.

I am still happy with it. My white socks seem brighter than with Persil powder and definitely softer.

We'll see when the "honeymoon" period is over, though...

The smell you spoke of, would it be the smell of tea tree oil? I have a membership through them, but so far have been too chicken to try it and since the Charlies has worked out so well for me I haven't had much of a desire to seek anything else. I usually only order the soap and the sol u mel from them. On occasion I will order the window cleaner and wood cleaners too. It has been a long time sinse I last ordered, so I'm sure I have an incredible amount of certificates built up. LOL!

I don't think it was the smell of the tea tree (melaleuca) oil--that has such a distinctive smell--I should smell it again to describe it better. MOST people would say it really is unscented. It's just we Charlie's users that would say it's not really unscented, know what I mean?

Sometimes I have wanted to quit Melaleuca, but I started getting the Access Bars for working out and some of the vitamin products...if I keep liking the MelaPower that will a big reason not to quit.

I am happy with Charlie's too, except that even very simple stains don't seem to be coming out. (Even with the general cleaner pre-spray.) I need more time to see if MelaPower is much better or it's just my imagination.

so does anyone have this stuff in the fresh scent variety? I would like to know what the smell is. I like the idea of a fresh scent but not if it is tea tree oil.

If the scented still smells the same as it did back in the day when I first tried it, then it doesn't smell like Tea Tree oil. I'd say the scented stuff has more of a mild floral scent than anything.

I didn't care for it much after I tried it. For some odd reason it was making my hubs uniforms smell rancid if he got wet while working.

I'm a fan of the Melaleuca Gold Bar soap... I'm been using the gold bars for years.
