Golden gate park and the San Francisco clubs were the norm of my youth. I'm stuck in the 50's,and 60's and early 70's too. I have always listened to country. When my friends were into the Beatles in the 7th grade I was listening to Sonny James. LOL

Annie, I've always really liked "Deep Purple", but my association is with the up-tempo 70(s)? version. I'm trying to make myself get out for a walk so I'm not going to look it up now. Sadly, I don't believe I ever asked my mom what her favorite song was. I know she liked music, especially the music of her time and that of Barbra Streisand, but I don't remember her humming around the house.

I had to look up IDF, that is a beautiful version. I love KD Lang's version, too. This happened quite a while ago and is again an artist rather than song or movie - I was a big fan of Simon and Garfunkel, but always preferred Paul Simon and loved his solo work after they split. I was lucky to see them on their reunion tour many years later. But one year Art Garfunkel came to our town for a performance at the lovely performing arts center we are lucky to have here. Fabulous acoustics and it draws some big names who like smaller venues. Anyway, a friend and I talked about going to see him, and neither of us was really all hyped about it, but decided it would be a fine way to spend an evening. He had a new band and album release; the music was quite good. But then he sang "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" and brought the house down. I just got full body goosebumps even writing that! I had no idea that he was the "voice" in Simon and Garfunkel and that he was the one singing Bridge when they were together. It was truly the most stunning music experience I have ever had...his voice...omg. And I have seen a great deal of live music in my life. It stands out as the very best, bar none.

Thanks for such kind words, Desert Rose. I have had much fun learning how to do a youtube channel, and of course it’s been great to have yet another outlet to talk about roses! I’d like to do a video about each rose I own, and currently I’ve done over 70 out of 140, so over half way there! I’d like to some some neighbors’ varieties, and some public gardens in the future. I’m delighted to hear comments from folks from all over the world, Google tells me that other than the US , my viewers are from India, , UK , Russia, Canada, Ukraine, Bangladesh, South Korea , Cambodia , in that order. It’s a small rose world after all.
