Perhaps you have turned the sound to OFF. Go through the setting on the menu or display, and see if the sound is ON or OFF. I have turned mine off before, and that's why I mentioned it to you.

Hi - Have a Panasonic stand-alone DVD recorder, model DMR-HS2 (three years old). Manual says says machine will record on DVD-R, 4.7GB & DVD-RAM 4.7GB, V2.0. So far, have used only Panasonic media (OK, it's what was recommended in the manual, surprise, surprise). No problems, but would be interested in knowing what other DVD-R brands have been used successfully with this model. Saw TDK mentioned in another thread? Maybe Maxell? If it makes any difference, I will want to finalize the DVDs for playback in this unit as well as other DVD players. TIA

There are a lot of movies that I watch more than once, and my collection of DVDs mostly contains fairly old movies or foreign ones. I don't particularly like to stream movies, even though we have fiber optic cable in L.A. I'm more likely to stream in Cathedral City, where we have cable, but it's not as fast as the service we have in L.A. One of the reasons I have not bought CDs recently is that there is very little new music that I like. Also, I've been buying single songs lately, but if I wanted an entire album, I would buy the CDs, as I did for Caro Emerald. I was checking on new music that I've listened to lately and decided to buy Acts of Rebellion by Ela Minus. It turns out to be cheaper to buy the CD than the MP3 album, and I would prefer to have the physical disc. I listen to most music as MP3s that I put on thumb drives, and then I can put the thumb drives into various players that I have, including DVD and Bluray players, as well as the sound system that we have for our TV in L.A. But I also have a boombox in the sewing room that plays CDs, and it does a better job with those than it does with the thumb drives.

The .aae file is not a photo. It's XML (extensible markup language, which is similiar to HTML) code that tells the native iPhone Photos viewer app what are the editing changes that were done to the original photo (even such simple actions as rotating). Photos app instantaneously reads the .aae file and applies the changes to the original picture file when it's viewed on the phone, thus the original on the phone isn't actually changed. Editing the photo again on the phone and Revert-ing the changes effectively deletes the .aae file on the phone. Emailing an edited photo to yourself from the phone will (should) send the edited version. If the email is received back to the phone, save the photo out of the email and it will be a new file on the phone and the edits should be included in it. .aae files can be copied to Windows along with the photo files but Windows doesn't understand .aae so the extra file has no function and can be deleted without affecting the original. The .aae file can be manually opened with a text editor (NotePad, WordPad, etc.) but it'll be non-sensical gibberish text. How to open a .aae file
