ok Betty what kind of music are you wanting are you just wanting short sound files or are you looking for full songs by specific artists? There are many file format types that music comes in so you would need to know if there is a specific file format you have to have, for example midi, wav, mp3 etc. If you just want small sound clips you can find a lot of those for free on the web they come in .wav and midi format. If you want real songs you probably want mp3 format. The main question is where can you download SAFE files that are not infected and also do it legally. You will need to have a folder on your computer that you will have dedicated to storage of your sound files, XP has such a folder under the MyDocuments area called My Music so you can just store them all there and you will know exactly where to find them. I will provide a link to a website that has a lot of free.wav files you can just click on any of them to listen to them, they are free, but I always advise once you download it to your pc before you ever click on it there to play it, right click on it first and choose scan file option so that your antivirus program will scan that specific file and make sure it is clean. this link tells you how to download the files on this site the instructions are how you would save any of these type files. http://www.ilovewavs.com/DownloadHelp.htm#How the link below will be the one to the site home page where you can select from different categories of music. Here is a link that might be useful: I love wavs

Unless you are paying for the tunes - you may end up with a huge fine. It has been in the news recently. A Minnesota woman, Jammie Thomas-Rasset, was fined 1.92 million dollars for sharing 24 songs in June. Joel Tenenbaum was fined 675,000 on Friday for downloading and sharing 30 songs. Boy - I just don't think it is worth it - not to mention the problems you can run into - like RC described. If you have paid a fee to Limewire and think you are in the clear to d/l music without paying per song - YOU ARE NOT!! YOu have paid a support fee - to Limewire. You really were ripped off. You are still illegally d/l songs. iTunes works great for the iPod - but not for other types of MP3 players. I only use an iPod now - so I am happy with iTunes.

Down.

Good for you, Been there, done that!
