I can't stand it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Today's high was -16. It's been -18 for a few hours now!

Tonight is supposed to be -29!!!!!!!!! That is air temp NO windchill!

I am locked in the deeeeeep freeze!!!! Going crazeee here!

My garage door opener isn't wanting to close in my heated garage! I have no clue why!

I need to go out tomorrow and it isn't going to be any better!!

I'm laying on the floor kicking my heels and pounding my hands and can't take it anymore!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Sweeby ada all.... Right now, I feel so alone. My family is far away and I can't even talk to my best friend because she has problem of her own. I don't want to talk to the priest because I don't need any religious lecture from anyone. The only thing I need is suggestion which I got from all of you. For that, I really appreaciate any suggestions and comments. He went to doctors several times but he quit soon after that. I don't understand why. The doctor gave him viagra and cialis. Both medicine are not working (or he just resisted whatever on his head). Im affraid he has some kind of other medical problem. He is so stuborn with doctor, medical, treatment and everything to do with it. From what I read of his medical record, he has low testoterone and ED problem but all those can be treatable with medication. All he need is a hormonal treatment but like I said, he is so stuborn with medical stuff. It get on my nerve for this one. I rarely dicuss this with him because everytime I discuss this he went balistic. We talked about this three times and three times end up with big fight. Three times we fought, he always wanted to run away. We never fight anything else besides this. I talked nicely to him but he went mad and I got very defensive. It all ended up just like a detective interogated a criminal. I don't really like psyciatrist. I deal with them everyday at work. The only thing they do to solve someone's problem is by medication. All those medication are not making a person better but worse. I'll try to talk to him and find any marriage counselor near by. Strangely, I can easily confront people but I can't even confront my own husband. Im so tired crying almost all the time on my off duty days....so pathetic! Im so tired of my marriage and surounding.

I have found that a lot of the issues such as the ones you describe are often due to cluelessness. You speak about how your family would handle some situations and how they raised you. Similarly, obviously certain things are not considered rude by your husband's family, either due to cultural differences and/or just due to differences. A lot of these matters get worse because you assume that the other party knows how to behave and has chosen not to, which may be wrong assumption. My suggestion is to first try to be a bit more proactive and assertive about what you want them to do. For example, if you see the sisters in law linger outside the door, go outside and calmly explain to them that it's not polite to eavesdrop on someone else's conversation, especially a couple's and that a couple needs space. If that upsets your husband, then tackle him separately. Chances are that your husband will refuse to take sides in this affair and you will have to take matters in your own hands. If he does not want to get involved, then he should let you handle the situation. Your decision on not having the child is right. I can predict that there will be insane competition from your inlaws to show that they love the baby more than you and vice versa. Unless you are extremely confident about forming a close bond with your child, you might want to teach your inlaws the concept of space first.

Greetings, temporarily fly-less Liz, Good thoughts for tomorrow and hopes that the surgical and after-care staff will be at top performance levels, plus hopes for no complications, with some prayers for all of those things, as well. We hope that your recovery is speedy and complete, with no complications and minimal discomfort along the way. Here's a suggestion, if I may. As you know, it's seldom that both parts of a couple leave this dimension of living at the same time, and some men left spouse-less are pretty well at sea in terms of taking care of themselves and their living place. With no help-meet there to offer advice ... the best that they can do is consultation in person or by phone calls to female (or other experienced male) friends. For the next few weeks your guys are lucky - as they are doing all of the necessary chores that go with keeping a household humming along smoothly, after the first day or so, they have not only a fully qualified, but experienced consultant on staff, available at all hours and fully familiar with all of the nuances that go along with managing your specific household, who's willing to put all of her brain power to work to provide the necessary wisdom. And, in some important circumstances offer *a* hand, physically (even if it's not as experienced as the recuperating one). How about that for a good deal?! On the off chance that your flight should go down in the drink some day and, God forbid, you not survive, they'd be fully trained in all of the necessaries, so would not have the trauma of learning some aspects of their personal care, along with managing a house, in addition to that involved with the mourning and funeral preparations. I hope that they'll be fully aware of their good fortune, in being able to have had all of that important ... nay, essential! ... training. Cant take any more My stepson came to live with my husband and I last week he is 8yrs old his mother says she can not handle him any more I donÂt want to say he is bad but he is in trouble all the time at home at school any were he goes the kids donÂt want to play with him. Last weekend at a party (I have two boys from another man 12 & 13) he spit in both of my childrenÂs faces so my son spit on him and hit him I know it was not right for my son to hit or spit on him but he did spit on both of my boys. All my husband says oh heÂs just a boy their is always a reason for this kids behavior. He has been enrolled at a new school for 5days now the teacher has called us 2 xÂs removed him from the class. Last night he was throwing pool balls around because he was mad. The kid has been kicked out of after school programs for hitting, kicking, pushing other students and lying. They did not let him eat, play or sit with the other kids in class. I am really trying to be their but my husband feels his son can hit my kids and mine are not to put a hand on him because of the age group. So to avoid any problems I tell my kids not to play with him no kids in the neighborhood want to play with him. His father makes the kids play with him. I see him as being a very angry child. My husband blames his mother for how he acts. The boy is smart he plays his father against his mother. He tells his dad he hates his mom she does not love him she is lazy, she is mean and he allows him to talk about her that way. He can not go one day without getting into trouble hitting, kicking, pushing, and lying about anything small or big. My husband does not want to admit their is a problem with him. I think he feels if something is wrong he is a bad parent. How can I get him to get help before it breaks us up or this kid ends up really hurting someone or himself? Our house has turned into a battle field every night their is a 2-3 hour discussion over what he did wrong and my kids are being left out. I have to sit in or he will play his dad and get out of trouble by saying oh I'm just bad I canÂt do anything right and his dad feels bad so it goes from discipline to holding laughing playing. And poor me.. Someone please help... well things have not changed they only have gotten worse Nov. 13th he attacked 7 children on the school play ground and one school yard supervisor now he has only been in school 1wk also he was screaming at the princeable and his father in the middle of the office. My husband did nothing no punishment at allÂ. He was kicked out of the after school program again. Now he has been in school 4wks and on Nov. 22nd he attacked another student put this little boy in a head lock. Also again attacked the after school playground supervisor. It was so bad they could not control him they called the police and put him in hand cuffs and a crises counselor speak with him. And his father takes him to get a hair cut buys him some new clothing he went out to eat that night was sitting in his bead watching TV that night the next morning. Top it all off his dad allowed him to go to Mexico for the long weekend. He was suspended from school. But at home he can do no wrong. Remember this boy is only 8 yrs old and he is just an evil little kid. At first he would say oh their making fun of me he has openly told his father I just do it because I want to. At times I want my boys to beat the crap out of him just so he can see how it feels. Now that this kid lives with us his mother is still recieving child support every month she calls at least 7-8 xs a day.All of a sudden she cares she never told my husband anything. One wkend she was suppose to pick him up on Friday and keep him till monday and drop him off at shcool she comes on Saturday at about 6:00 pm to pick him up on Sunday we are watching T.V. and at about 11:30 she is at the door I cant handle him he is acting up you need to spank him. She drove a 20-30 min drive to bring to the house so my husband could disapline him I looked at my husband and said HELL no she is not going to just pop up here any time she feels like it. I see her more now that this kid lives with us then the whole 4 yrs we dated in the past 5wks this lady has been at my front door at least 15 times. has been on my phone I cant even count how many xs.

Been there, one week in Minneapolis(in Jan).
One day it was -30 with a wind chill of -70. The entire week, the temp never got up anywhere near 0.

Just don't lock your car doors.

I don't even want to think of the heating bills you have up there, and the confinement.

Well go have a look at some local Atlanta news online and have a big laugh at the folks here making breaking news out of 1/4 inch of snow! I live here and it's funny to me! At least you'll get a laugh!

Nodakgal. Boy, do I hear you. I've layed on the floor, kicking me heels, screaming that it ain't fair! I would hold my breath until I turn blue....but I am already blue from the cold. LOL. Anyways i don't know how many times I"ve said the past couple weeks...Oh well. thats Minnesota in the winter time. Hang in there gal, spring is only 4 months away. Alas. Dottie

It was 24 below this morning. Had to go to Minot, and it is challenage to get the garage door open, even when DH sprayed the rails with something that we are now out of. I find that if I "help" it it goes up ok. I had a council board meeting, but the Pastor cancelled it due to the wind chill factor. But if I remember last year, it was worst, and we did survive. Suppose to be up in the 20's (above) next week.

We have had record cold here for Texas too..I just make a big ol pot of coffee, and have started cleaning out drawers and closets...passes the time. I cleaned DGD room today, and threw away more barbie shoes than I knew existed. Three bags of old toys went to my neighbors niece across the street. Gone!! yea!!
Or maybe start on a new book?
Tomorrow, with hot coffee in hand, I am going to go through all my genealogy stuff, and make sure it is all in the correct books. Keeps my mind off of the cold and being stuck inside.

it's like that here in southwest Iowa too.

Yesterday a friend came over and crawled up in our attic to put a pipe wrap on a pipe that our furnace drains into.

The drain pipe froze up and the water started backing up and leaked through the ceiling in the hall way...what a mess. Denny would never have been able to crawl up in there and get that job done.

This does seem like a good old fashioned winter. I keep hoping it isn't like this for all of Jan and Feb. I've been wearing all my warm wools that have a very limited season because they usually make me too hot. I hear it's supposed to warm up next week - above freezing in MN.

DH left for Oklahoma City today - actually mentioned not taking a coat!! He did end up taking one.....

Remember 96* and high humidity in the summer -- does it feel better yet?

Have you seen any mosquitos lately? -- That has to help.

Those big bulky, wooly clothes are "IN" right now, and only for a short time!

Stop kicking those heels, frozen things break easily!

After all, It's only about 3 1/2 weeks till Groundhog's Day.

I think I did hear (I hope THEY know what they are talking about) that it should improve after this week -- BUT watch out because when it warms up after the real cold, we usually get snow. And when we get snow, you get dumped on!

Whoops! That was no longer positive thinking.
Remember we live in the land of the changing seasons! LOL I sure wish it would change!

That's normal temperature for January in my neck of the woods.

You really need to get that garage door closed if you want to enjoy the benefits of a heated garage. (I envy you.)

Can you operate the door manually? You might have to disengage the drive mechanism.

Another thought. The garage door opener may have stopped closing because it sensed a "jam". Make sure there is nothing pressing against the sensor strip, or obstructing the light beam (if it uses one).

From inside the garage, raise the door a bit and then try lowering it. Observe its action. You might get a clue why it is stopping. [and then if you discover nothing, you may go inside and kick your heels on the floor.]

Let's go to Hawaii in our mind. Think of green palm trees, warm white sand under your feet, cool waves of water lapping on your ankles. Breath nice and slow and tell yourself this weather will pass and spring will be here soon. Go feed the birds some seeds, plan a spring event, and have a nice hot beverage you love.

I hope the sun finds you like it has us although it's -3 (-24wc) outside. The wind is calming down which is a relief!! I'm thinking if I can finally drive out this afternoon I'll bring food to the community pantry. Then On Sat, I hope to drive up to Elkhorn to attend Grammahony's benefit meal/auction for her grandson Nathan. DD also has 3 basketball games this weekend I'm really looking forward too. Oh my, If it weren't for other activities this snow would make me crazy.

I feel for you, since I'm pretty dang close to pounding my legs and arms too. Told dh yesterday I wouldn't have made it like the homesteaders had too. Looney comes to mind.

I don't know how y'all do it w/ those temps. It's 18 here and I can't imagine it being any colder or living with this for long. I can't get my car out of the garage b/c DH has heat in there for some big plants and I don't want to risk it cooling off long enough to open the door. Our summers are brutal, but this cold is worse.

LOL Toni! We've had many conversations in the past week or so about the first people to live in ND and what ever possessed them to settle here! Can you imagine life then! I guess I am lucky to have central heat and a well insulated house and cars that get me where I am going with heat!

The weatherman missed the boat thank goodness. It was a balmy -25 here!

I did hear a warm up of 20 ABOVE next week, I will believe it when I see it though!
