Bryant Warranty and rebate

Do you have to have the Bryant system installed from an authorized Bryant Dealer to have warranty honor? Also, does anyone knows if there are any rebate on Bryant products?

Any contractor that has an account with the distributorship can do parts warranty. You just pay the service call and labor. This is with all brands(like Carrier, Trane, Rheem) not just Bryant.

Labor is normally guaranteed 1st year by the install company.
Then if you elect you can purchase an extended labor warranty from the bryant install company. If by chance they go out of business or you are not satisfied with them you can transfer the extended labor warranty to another factory authorized dealer.

Rebates on certain bryant models are through Nov. 15th

Do you know which model has the rebate. There is nothing on their website and when I call the dealers, they want to come out and do estimate before giving me the information.

Crosstalk, Are the three quotes from three contractors? I can't tell if contractors are quoting multiple options. For the furnace you have listed, this is what I have been able to find about input and outpur ratings: 313AAV024045: Input 44K BTU, Output 36K BTU 315AAV036070: Input 66K BTU, Output 54K BTU (High stage), 35K BTU (Low stage) The Preferred furnace is a single stage furnace, the Evolution is a two stage variable speed furnace. Given your mild winters and the size of the upper floor, the 45K BTU furnace should be sufficient, but a load calculation should be done to confirm it. Most contractors don't want to be bothered and will use a rule of thumb based on area. The Evolution furnace and controller is a much nicer furnace. Unfortunately the 70K size is the smallest. If you did get this furnace, then it most likely operate primarily in the low stage. It would go to the high stage whenever you had a temperature set back of more than 5 degrees, and then only for a short period of time. The variable speed furnace will allow you to match it with a two stage Evolution AC condenser. This condenser is quietest in terms of noise. Therefore if a quiet condenser is important to you, then spending the extra money on the Evolution system makes sense in your case. You will also be more comfortable in winter and summer. The contractor may already know the date of the Bryant rebate and may want to schedule the installation in order to qualify for the rebate. I recommend you get the 10 labor warranty from Bryant as contrator No. 3 has proposed. I also recommend a 4 inch media filter if it can fit in the return.

Bryant Extended Labor Warranty

Junkmailhold, It is correct what the dealer told you. Bryant and Carrier changed their extended labor warranties to be only 90 days after purchase. This was changed I believe in March. They did this because the 10 year part warranty has to be submitted with in 90 days also. I guess they decided to require extended labor to have the same time of 90 days to make it easier on the processing. I have no idea why they cut the time for submitting extended labor warranties down to 90 days but it is no way the contractor dealer/installers fault. Now for how it works for a dealer in my state, a dealer has 3 or 4 levels. But first a dealer must register with the state to even sell extended labor warranties on behalf of Bryant. This may be why a dealer does not mention an extended labor warranty because they are not registered to sell them. Every state is different so I don't know. For me, It starts with $75 labor rate and goes up to I believe $140 what ever labor rate the dealer has with bryant can effect the cost of the labor warranty. Most of us go with the minimum $75 labor rate to reduce the cost of the labor warranty. In my state we can not over charge for the policy and the policy is governed by the state of Florida and Bryant. 10yr labor warranty on a system in Fl is $525. Accessories are extra, like purifiers, UV lighting ect... Your installer should not take months or even days to return your call. That to me is very upsetting! On the positive side, Bryant is quality, and I haven't had too many issues with the equipment. Next if you happened to get a good bryant dealer who cares about their customers, Like with my company I always give my customer a price break with an extremely reduced labor for the life of the systems I install so maybe your installer will do the same.

Pitflyer, thank you for your comments. The two stage you have would definately bump up the price. I previously was looking at Bryant's preferred two stage and the quote was several hundred dollars higher, but that a/c did not communicate to the Evolution thermidistat and since then, for a couple of reasons, decided on a one stage and wanted to go with a evolution a/c. So your quote might not be that far off from mine. I really appreciate your feedback. Everyone wants a good deal and I am hoping I have one. The contractor is a new business and is hungry. He has 25 yrs HVAC experience and his master's. No complaints or problems on BBB. I'm going to get a couple of references first though. He is going to throw in a filter. He said it comes with a filter cabinet. Funny you should mention the first year service part being free. I was planning on negotiating for that as well. Tiger, I will indeed ask for the latest thermidistat! I'll be so glad to get rid of this Delaware humidity. The heat is one thing. I think I could deal with it by itself. But I hate the humidity! Pitflyer, do you like your new system? Have you been able to notice a decrease in your energy consumption? Does it do well removing the humidity? The two stage should be good for that!

Wow, you gentlemen respond very quickly. Thanks for that. And apparently, I'm not at my sharpest in the middle of the night. That power rate was incorrect. I only provided the fuel charge. Adding all the pieces together comes to $0.11579 (.0782 summer rate, .00144 transmission rate, and .03615 fuel charge). As for the other questions/comments: * I did worry about the lineset diameter and confirmed for the length, turns, and elevation change online for the Lennox. It won't even have a 1% drop in efficiency. The Bryant salesman with 17 years experience told me the lineset works. All the contractors told me the lineset works for a 2 ton but not a 3 ton. Additionally, replacing the lineset adds roughly $1,000 to each bid. * Only one of the contractors specified a 3 ton unit and there expected the unit to always run in the low speed except during extreme circumstances. * The Bryant does come with the Evolution controller t-stat. * Demand defrost - I couldn't find any mention of this for the Lennox online, so I will pose the question to the contractor. I did find this text on the Bryan installation instructions -> "The control board accumulates compressor run time. As theaccumulated run time approaches the selected defrost interval time, the control board monitors the coil temperature sensor for a defrost demand. If a defrost demand exists, a defrost cycle will be initiated at the end of the selected time interval. A defrost demand exists when the coil temperature is at or below 32_F (0_C) for 4 minutes during the interval." * I will ask about the staged heat strips. Austin generally only has 24 hours or less below freezing and maybe two months where heating is used. * Tigerdunes - what do you mean when you say the prices are "very frisky"? * We certainly are having more and more hot summers. It struck me that at least a couple of the contractors were eager for the business as they were ready to do the work within a day or two. How over priced do you think these prices are for premium equipment? I am leaning toward the Lennox due to the 10 year warranty for labor and the Internet enabled thermostat that allows me to adjust it from my iPhone when I realize we are out of the house for a while. Additionally, the salesman was more pleasant to my wife and helpful to me without the constant adjustments in what he is selling me. Thanks again for all the advice. Rebates are on the Preferred and Evolution condensers matching with the variable speed air handlers or furnaces

Only 2 systems in the legacy series 126A A/C and 226A heat pump matched with variable speed Air handlers or furnaces

what are you looking for?
heat pump, straight cool with furnace, hybrid heat(heatpump/gas furnace)?

I'm getting the Evolution 95% furnace and split system AC. I'm looking at the 113ANA or 123ANA with CPNVT coil. Will this qualifies for rebate and how much?

With the 355 furnace you need to have at minimum the 167A condenser to qualify for a $250 rebate that is if the bryant dealer you are dealing with is in the bryant bonus program. The 167A cost more than the 123A but the 167A is a communicating condenser so it would work well with a Evolution Control and the 355 Furnace
If I remember correctly you have the two systems being replaced? even if you didn't get a rebate the price was very very good for the price quoted for the 355 furnace with a 123A condenser request the evolution controller at least for the furnace. Downstairs was 310 furnace with 123A condenser? correct?

I just installed a 315 variable speed furnace and 124A AC unit and meets the minimal requirement for the Gov tax credit. The installer wasn't an authorized factory dealer though and therefore not part of the bryant bonus program. Is the system eligible for a rebate in this situation?

Hi Classic Dave,

Thanks for the information. He is actually quoting the condenser as 113ANA for both upstair and downstair. I'm asking him how much additional to change to 123ANA. Is it worth changing to the 123ANA or is it ok to stay with 113ANA? He also told me that the warranty on these are 10 years parts but on website it say 5 years. Which is correct? Also, my installer is not an authorize installer for Bryant but he purchase part from Bryant dealers/distributor. Do I qualify for rebate from Bryant if get those system? Also, I heard that Bryant has extended warranty for parts/labor, can I buy those too or does it have to be installed by authorize Bryant installer for the extended warranty.

To answer a couple of your questions. I just called Bryant and was told that unless the installer is part of the Bryant Bonus program I'm not eligible for the rebate. I'm in that situation. Only the 315A furnace was eligible in theory but only for $38-75, so I'm not too bothered.
You can extend the parts warranty by registering the units with Bryant. Doesn't matter if the installer is an authorized Bryant dealer. Not sure about the extended warranty incl labor. Maybe Dave will chime in here.

the company has to be signed up with the bryant bonus program.
The system that you are looking at does not qualify for the rebate. In your case it wouldn't really worry about a rebate because you got a very good price.

Bryant systems have 10yrs on parts if you sign the warranty information and send it in or if the bryant dealer sends it in electronically.
Labor warranty is 1 yr.

Extended labor warranty would need to go through a bryant dealer in my state of Fl we have to register with Bryant and the state of Florida to be able to offer those extended labor warranties, The price is set by the manufacture and what the dealer charges per hour.
In your case the installer wouldn't be able to offer an extended labor warranty since he is not with any bryant program.

When and if getting an extended warranty I would make sure it is through the manufacture and not a 3rd party insurance company no matter what brand it is.
