Yep sure did. Made cards and did the quilling designs on the front. It is a really neat thing to do and pretty easy.
I may still have lots of the papers, I'll look and if I do I'll send them to you.

Decades ago.

It's a nice hobby--very relaxing, you don't need a lot of expensive supplies, anyone can do it. It's been so long, I really forget what I made, but probably pictures, greeting cards. Know I used to make little flowerpots for doll houses using wider quilling paper.

My Mom enjoys quilling. She has framed a lot of wedding invites with the quilling around it. I bought her a kit from the place in the link one year for her birthday. They have a lot more than flowers here! Makes me want to take up the hobby too! lol

Decades ago for me, too. My daughter Gillian started doing it at age four. She was highly artistic, and had amazing patience for the precise work. We mostly made snowflakes to hang on our Christmas trees.

I am a quilling addict. I've taught quilling and find it so relaxing. Sometimes I use expensive papers and sometimes I shred my own with cheaper paper. It depends on what I want as the outcome. I've made everything from snowflake tree decorations to scrapbook embellishments. Believe it or not they do stand up to scrapbook abuse. I have had scrapbooks in stores for demonstrations for about 5 years now and although the page protectors are getting a little ratty from overuse, the pages with quilling are still fine.

I usually design my own patterns.

Wow! Didn't know that there are quite a few of you that have done quilling. Yes, it was a decade ago for me too. Everytime, I asked about quilling, people thought I meant quilting. I had some books on them too. Don't know if I still have them or not.

Heather you answered a question that I have been wondering about for awhile. I also like to do quilling and was wondering how they would hold up in scrapbooks. Now, thanks to you, I know. Thanks, Vique.

I did that back in the 1970s and 80s. I mostly made my own patterns.I remember making an owl on a card and a cotton boll to put in a small shadow frame and also embellishing a copy of my daughter's High School Graduation invitation. I made various flowers too. Once you get started there's no end to pretty little things to make.

Wow...I forgot about this post...glad someone brought it back to the front! I want to do this for cards and scrapbooking too, so I amn glad to hear it'll hopd up on the pages. It looks like fun. I need a new hobby.....my tole painting is kind of on hold for awhile, I have no time for it anymore. Jenni that is so nice of you! I saw a demonstration on TV a few weeks ago and years ago at Joann's and it looks simple enough. Not a lot of supplies either! I'd love to get into it. Guess I'll get some stuff to start this week end. Sounds like a favorite around the KT!

Quilling looks complicated but it is actually very easy and relaxing to do once you get the hang of it. The other thing I like about this craft is that is is relatively cheap. Ordinary coloured paper cut into strips will do. Quilling paper gives a better finish but is not necessary. There are cheap shredders on the market that cut paper in 1/8 inch widths. You can quill with a toothpick although I suggest a slotted tool for beginners.
