What is the protocol for sharing a recipe with the troop?

I'm feeling like putting my home made bbq sauce/rib secrets out there...do I just start a post or should it go elsewhere?

metaxa, we are very informal here and we certainly would not want good cooking secrets to go elsewhere! So post away!

By the same token we are a very diverse group of cooks with broad interests so, while I will pounce on your every word, others may not. Not everyone has the same cooking bug....

OH yes Nancy, myth #1 - I thought it was so cute when he said when you boil your ribs, you're making soup. True if ya think about it.

You could start a blog if you have a lot to say on a regular basis.

Yep. A spammer, most likely from India, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia.

On another board where I moderate we are CONSTANTLY fighting them. We've banned HUGE swaths of IP addresses originating from those areas to keep the lid on the worst of them.

If you send a complaint to IVillage, as often as not absolutely nothing is done about it.

What a great website. He had me hooked as soon as I read Myth #1.

I have in the past steamed ribs to start the cooking process and to render some of the fat off them.

Boiling? No freaking way.

OK, I don't boil ribs but I've often said I don't want them to fall off the bone and people look at me like I've grown two heads. I like a bit of chew to ribs. I want them tender, but I don't want them to fall apart.

So I agree with that, it's a myth, LOL.

Myth #1...yeah...boiling ribs makes them tender....nope it just makes pork soup! I knew that!

I ordered the Grill Grates a few days ago. I'll have to wait to use them as I need to google around to see why my Weber won't light.

Friend of mine ordered the grill grates and used them last night. His grill has given him fits with hot spots...

He says that while they're expensive, the grill grates are FANTASTIC pieces of kit.

I prefer charcoal myself. Did jumbo shrimp on the BBQ tonight for dinner, as a matter of fact.
