Need Ideas for Gift for Sick Person
Comments (8)I have a great website you can visit. Hugswithlove.com This is a new website and it has wonderful blankets to send. I have a friend who has been in and out of the hospital and I sent a blanket, and then the tote. She loved the gift at home and for hospital visits. When she was out of bed she used the blanket to keep warm, she said it was just enough. Her husband said it washed up beautifully. The tote held the blanket and a few magazines. She is doing well now and still talks about the blanket. I have even given a few to my friends who are becoming first time grandparents. I love the site. Maybe because I am chilly often but I bought a blanket to keep on the couch at my house as well. Comments (33)We had the same problem for years. We have a group of seven couples (all close in age). We would take trips together once every year or so but during the year we would take turns hosting a monthly dinner. Of course this always necessitated a hostess gift. All of us are comfortably off and at our age have everything (material) that we want or need. It drove me crazy because I was constantly being gifted with craft type items. I am just not into cutesy things and I had a difficult time coming up with items that I thought the other ladies would enjoy or use. I failingly ended up giving food items or fresh flowers. We all finally came to a consensus that we should stop doing hostess gifts and at Christmas put funds together to donate to a charity. Thank goodness! The pressure every month is off and we can give to those in need. It's a win/win....See MoreNeed Gift ideas...
Comments (20)I think Lindylouwho has a great suggestion. When I had surgery about 10 yrs ago, a cousin & his wife did this for me. They knew I drank pepsi so that was included. Besides the snack stuff, they included some stamps. I don't remember everything, but I remember they cared. Each item was individually wrapped (except the Pepsi)and numbered. I've since used this concept for Christmas for my mom, and she loved it!! Even if your friend doesn't care for, say a packet of peanuts, he'll find someone who does. Most of all, he'll know someone was/is thinking of him. And that's the important thing. Extras in the form of the newsy news someone mentioned would be a bonus if you would normally discuss these things via phone....See MoreNeed a 'personalized' gift?...look here.
