What should be in the Installation Contract for new furnace?

Hi,

We're stuck on what to order and who should install it. As we try to figure that out, I wanted to ask what we as homeowners need in the contract to make sure that all of our costs are included in the original estimate.

HVAC Co. # 1, which we've been using for years, had recommended 2 Trane 80% units (we're passing on those). They have a very simple contract - it lists the make, model and description, payment terms, requires us to pay the costs of permits, gives a start and completion date for isntallation, lists the manufacturer's warranties, and describes services as follows:

Installation includes the following: removal of existing equipment, duct work modifications as required, venting, start-up and check.

Once we decide on the furnace (and the installer) does this description cover everything? We want to make sure there are no hidden costs. Not sure what else we need to ask for in the contract.

Thanks for the help!
