I am so tired!!

Had a lady to come over and help with some heavy duty housecleaning. I ended up helping more than I think I should have really. I still paid her the agreed upon price. I did some cleaning last nite too before she came this morning.(did not want her to think I was a slob, lol) I think I am an idiot. LOL!! Next time I think I will leave the house and visit a friend if I hire a cleaning lady. This is the first time I have had help, but lately I have begun to feel overwhelmed with housework. I think I am getting old.:(

If I didn't think other people would call me lazy, I'd hire someone to come twice a month just to clean my shower.

Part of my new kitchen remodel will be creamy white beadboard on the walls and ceiling with white cabinets, and the existing cupboards are also white. Altho I know it's the look I want, already I'm stressing about keeping everything clean.

White is easier to keep clean than black.

Pearl glad to see that you were able to take some time off and rest, did you feel better at all. we had a dandy day, and because there is no hockey on tv on sat. night they are running 3 movies back to back, the second is groundhog day, and i waon't watch the second one, godfather 2. but anyways, we have a tv station called tvo, kindof like your pbs, a doctor from texas as the guest (shows name is more to life), and he taked about the hurried woman syndrome -- which sounds like all off us! i can't recall his name - i watched it at 5 am on thursday morning! but he does have a book out by that name, he was interesting and talked also about depression, exercise and taking time for oneself, might be a good looksee if your library has it. (-29F right now and waiting for that snow to come p.s they towed our way and think that the spark plugs got wet with oil, cross your fingers it won't break the bank!) debbie

Judith, You have 13 months of sickness credits built up - but only get paid for 30 days? What kind of hurdles do you have to jump over to be "sick" - for a day or two? Or for a longer period? Often for a longer period you must have a doctor's message. Do you have a co-operative doctor? After all - you have some medical issues, don't you? If you have sick days' credit, that means that you get full pay for a day that you take off sick, doesn't it? By the way - try to get those credit card bills paid off FAST. Store cards usually charge 25 - 28%, and major cards 15 - 18%. If I loaned you $100.00 and required you to pay me $28. per year rent on the money, before one cent of the outstanding balance was retired, you'd call me a real stinker, wouldn't you? And - since most of the stuff we buy on card isn't deductible - you'd have to earn over $40.00 pre-tax in order to have the $28.00 after-tax to pay me the rent on the money. NOT A GOOD DEAL!!! Good wishes for the remaining time - don't get your shirt-tail tied into a knot over it. Shrug your shoulders - give yourself a big smile when you look yourself in the mirror in the morning, wink, stick out your fist, thumb up, and tell yourself that this is to be a lovely day. Thanks all. I had several hoursleft, but I was out of energy. Nancy, I have a big flat dish that I got from a garden on lie place and find it works better for me to drag the mulch in it...(.it has a rope attached and it scoots over the grass or my stepping stones) rather than using the wheel barrow.. I only pull one bag at the time though. Kate, we did not get wind but got about a half inch of much needed rain. It was funny. I was working on one half of the bed, totally dry and it was sprinkling on the other side of the bed. Surprised me. Nancy, those surprise lilies were here when we bought the house 20 years ago. I wish I could afford a housekeeper. At least once every two weeks to help out. My house is a mess right now. Haven't have the energy to do much but I think I'm going to clean up a little tomorrow.

sheeesh, Kath, didn't you just have surgery? Seems like you don't need to fret about clean. Just take it easy, and do what you can.

It never goes away anyway, just sits there and waits for you. :)

It must be a "getting old" thing, I stay overwhelmed lately. Just moping 3 small rooms and I'm done for the day (or week). If I paid someone to do mine I'd need to leave.

I wouldn't leave a stranger in my house for anything. My neighbor had M. Maids and the house cleaner was a different person every week. After 6 weeks she realized her jewelry was gone. The company wouldn't do anything. I would have called the police.

It sure does get harder the older I get. I had my hubbys family over last week for supper and hit it pretty hard so I am trying to keep things done plus a little more each day. So far, so good..

All of the above. I have tried several ladies...tried to stay on top of it...tried ignoring most of it is just about where I am now. I can't believe how "fussy" and clean everything used to be. The good thing???? Nobody really notices. Nanny

I use to OCD about my house. Everything had to be spotless. But since I have gotten older and the stuff that comes with age I cannot clean like I use to when I was younger. I have three floors and I HATE going up and down steps. Seems like I always need something that is on a floor that I am not on. When the kids were here and I was young it did not bother me. Now, I have difficulty climbing these stairs. I have closed off all bedrooms and bathroom on top floor, but they still need dusting, vaccuming, bathroom cleaned etc. ugh!
