I am so tired!!

Had a lady to come over and help with some heavy duty housecleaning. I ended up helping more than I think I should have really. I still paid her the agreed upon price. I did some cleaning last nite too before she came this morning.(did not want her to think I was a slob, lol) I think I am an idiot. LOL!! Next time I think I will leave the house and visit a friend if I hire a cleaning lady. This is the first time I have had help, but lately I have begun to feel overwhelmed with housework. I think I am getting old.:(

If I didn't think other people would call me lazy, I'd hire someone to come twice a month just to clean my shower.

Part of my new kitchen remodel will be creamy white beadboard on the walls and ceiling with white cabinets, and the existing cupboards are also white. Altho I know it's the look I want, already I'm stressing about keeping everything clean.

White is easier to keep clean than black.

Joyce, Take a deep breath and blow it out!!! Be sure to thank God that you are alive!!! You are feeling the depression of loosing your sister plus the dreary weather we have been having is not good for us. We need sun!!!!! For the kitchen, only you can know how much that might bug you. Personally I think of after meal cleanup-the dishwasher is usually open and we are putting things back in the fridge. The rest of the time it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal to me. As for the niche...that would bother me every time I walked down the hall. Can the niche be made a little narrower so that it would be 'centered'? Even if you just use trim to do it it should be an easy fix unless it is off by alot. Hope you are feeling stronger today and ready to tackle these challenges, Let us know what you do!

Thanks all. I had several hoursleft, but I was out of energy. Nancy, I have a big flat dish that I got from a garden on lie place and find it works better for me to drag the mulch in it...(.it has a rope attached and it scoots over the grass or my stepping stones) rather than using the wheel barrow.. I only pull one bag at the time though. Kate, we did not get wind but got about a half inch of much needed rain. It was funny. I was working on one half of the bed, totally dry and it was sprinkling on the other side of the bed. Surprised me. Nancy, those surprise lilies were here when we bought the house 20 years ago. I wish I could afford a housekeeper. At least once every two weeks to help out. My house is a mess right now. Haven't have the energy to do much but I think I'm going to clean up a little tomorrow.

sheeesh, Kath, didn't you just have surgery? Seems like you don't need to fret about clean. Just take it easy, and do what you can.

It never goes away anyway, just sits there and waits for you. :)

It must be a "getting old" thing, I stay overwhelmed lately. Just moping 3 small rooms and I'm done for the day (or week). If I paid someone to do mine I'd need to leave.

I wouldn't leave a stranger in my house for anything. My neighbor had M. Maids and the house cleaner was a different person every week. After 6 weeks she realized her jewelry was gone. The company wouldn't do anything. I would have called the police.

It sure does get harder the older I get. I had my hubbys family over last week for supper and hit it pretty hard so I am trying to keep things done plus a little more each day. So far, so good..

All of the above. I have tried several ladies...tried to stay on top of it...tried ignoring most of it is just about where I am now. I can't believe how "fussy" and clean everything used to be. The good thing???? Nobody really notices. Nanny

I use to OCD about my house. Everything had to be spotless. But since I have gotten older and the stuff that comes with age I cannot clean like I use to when I was younger. I have three floors and I HATE going up and down steps. Seems like I always need something that is on a floor that I am not on. When the kids were here and I was young it did not bother me. Now, I have difficulty climbing these stairs. I have closed off all bedrooms and bathroom on top floor, but they still need dusting, vaccuming, bathroom cleaned etc. ugh!
