What's for dinner Wednesday?

We're having smoked sausage, baked potato and Glenda's Alaskan Cole Slaw. This is the first time I've had everything on hand to make it. Holy smokes, Glenda. It sure makes a ton of it. Haven't put the dressing on yet since we aren't ready to eat yet. But I'm already lovin' the dressing.

Did more laundry today and have kept busy all day. Made 18 large meatballs that are freezing on a cookie sheet so I can seal them later. Still have to put the clean sheets back on the bed. Sigh! I don't like that job!

We went to Costco's today and DH wanted to go to lunch afterward. I had shrimp tempura and he had firecracker beef. I did say that he likes Chinese didn't I. You'd think he'd be tired of it by now. We have some lunch leftovers for tonight. I'm on a roll here for no cooking.

Pam, we generally eat around 5. Today was super easy, threw the ziti in the microwave! Laura, don't ever worry about posting meals, a number of us have breakfast for dinner and that kind of thing. Less-than exotic meals! LOL Sue, I thought your meal was so good, real comfort food. Then I read "tv dinner". Too funny. Raven, Can you ship me some of your leftovers??? Ribs and brussels sprouts. Oh yummy. Laura we like tuna casserole, I make a roux and put hot sauce in, and peas. Gotta have peas in mine. Pam we like grilled pork chops better than steak! Are your potatoes on the grill as well? Lately I've been cutting the potatoes in slices and grilling them that way.

Sue, BLT's are so good! I'll have to buy some bacon and do that. Shirley, I didn't know that Ponderosas were still around. I'm glad that your dinner companion made up for the so-so food. OF, frozen pizza and Kool-Aid. Interesting combo Jim, bbq wings are good without the sauce! Even better with home-grown and CSA grown veggies. Raven, gotta love leftovers. We have leftovers regularly, as I don't know how to cook enough for just 2 people. Rhizo, I usually make pancakes from scratch with flour, egg and sour cream. Could I just use buttermilk in place of the sour cream?

I'm gearing up for soups, stews, and chowders FINALLY! I just cannot get in the mood until the chill settles in for good. I've got a nice, meaty ham bone in the freezer that waves at me whenever I open the door. Pea soup in the near future, yum. The recipes I've seen for Tuscan bean soup sound 'mahvelous'; I'll have to add that to my list.

Great meals as usual!!! Shirley, aren't leftovers grand? No thinking of what to cook and easy cleanup. Phyllis, it's nice to take something handy and put your own touches in it. Susan, I had to laugh at you taking yourself physically away from the kitchen to avoid eating more. I agree, the packaged meals are definitely portion-control! Pam, leftover lasagna sounds good! Especially with your snowy weather. Raven the rotisserie chickie and your sides make a great meal! Angela, your dinner sounds so good. I really like the idea of the pasta and shrimp salad. Cherryfizz your meal made my mouth water. Did you use chicken breasts?

patti, don't put the dressing on all of it. Just what you two way for tonites dinner. Without the dressing, it will last a good while. Just keep it in an airtight ziplock bag.

It wilts down when you put the dressing on it.

i'm fixing sausage catalonian style...(must be sausage night!)

easiest recipe ever and so good!

(i used my local grocers italian style sausage)

Sooooo Mrs Patti, did you and Harry enjoy the AK slaw?

My son doesn't like cold slaw, but he went back for seconds, and when they came for dinner last time, asked where it was, tee hee!

DH has an impacted molar, so biscuits and tuna gravy for him (which he loves) and a biscuit and fried egg for me. Trying to think of 'soft' dinner menu items until he can get rid of the infection and get the tooth pulled.
