Please help... Other names for Quartzite and granite?

I accidentally put this in the building a home forum but would like it here. I'm in the process of looking for granite for our new home. At the second place I went, I found two that I really like. I came home and googled the names and these do not seem to exist. Does anyone know other names for these?
Glacier Cloud Quartzite (pictured below) and Aztec Cream Granite

Wow!! I'm jealous! I wish I could find a slab (or three) like that in my area (Nashville, TN). Just gorgeous! I did see one similar at a warehouse in my area called "Super White Granite".

That's gorgeous! Could also be Super White or Moon Night or any number of other names. Make sure you get a sample and test it at home for durability and etching. That tile sample on top does not go at all with the stone, IMHO. Not that you asked. ;)

Hate to sound like a broken record, but my vote is for the first one. If you wanted something that looked like marble, the first one is closer. The pattern seems "softer" if you will. Of course some of the depth and nuances of the stone are lost in digital format. On my monitor, the mother of pearl looks different that what I have seen in person myself. You are going to be looking at that counter day in/day out for a long time, so make sure you that you really like whatever you pick.

It seemed to me that the only difference between Kashmir white and River whites that I looked at (at several different stoneyards) was the Kashmir whites were a greyer overall, and River white was creamier. They had similar patterning and the garnet inclusions; some slabs had more, some less, some were busier than others. I don't recall ever seeing either with that much speckling -- they always seemed to be more linear which I liked. Bianco Romano is similar, too, it could be that.

Have you looked at any of the pre fabricated countertops? Since you said you had a small kitchen and full slab might be a waste, a pre fab could work. they have granite, marble, quartz and some quartzite. you won't be able to get some of the more exotics, but this one for instance was really different. Called Ice Jade. it cost 600, edges were finished and comes in a 9'X22" piece. you hire a fabricator to fit it to your dimensions and cut-outs. you can see all of the other choices in this pic (and this was a rather small collection)

Alyssa987 - I had Dallas White on my list for a short time because it was a lighter granite but it wasn't one that I loved and swooned over. The granite yards near me don't seem to carry a lot of white granites, so I haven't been able to see ones like White River or Colonial White in person. I read about staining issues with Kashmir White so I immediately took it off my list. It's tough because the different granite yards call the same granite different names.

Are you in PA by any chance? I think I have seen those slabs!

They are utterly stunning. I think it's Super White/ Pricess White.

We have it (although I think those slabs are nicer than ours), ours is beautiful but it does etch so make sure you check.

Breezey girl - completely agree about the tile not matching. We liked it on a different wall and put it there and said Yuck! That just happened to be when we remembered to take a picture of the slab.

Hoboken, we are in PA. We found this at suburban granite in warminster.

Just an update, I got a sample of the glacier cloud and it did scratch glass. I also tested the unsealed sample with lemon juice, a lemon wedge, and tomato sauce. I only left it for about a half hour but it didn't stain. We are very happy and are going with the glacier cloud.

That's the most beautiful slab of Super White I've ever seen! Stunning! I'm anxious to see what backsplash you pair with it!!

Thanks! Babs, it definitely will NOT be the backsplash that is shown in the picture! We are building our home and we won't be moving until May. We want to see the kitchen put together before finalizing a backsplash so it probably won't be until summer. We are leaning towards ceramic tiles like the one in the photo but in white with stainless steel accent tiles. Our cabinets are cherry and our appliances are stainless.

I also love that granite! Where in Warminster is this place? I grew up there but now live at the shore. No problem with traveling if I can find beautiful granite like that!
