Hello,
I have gotten bids to replace my heating/cooling systems in zip code 21224. One highly recommended contractor specified Carrier Infinity SEER 21 A/C condensers and Carrier 92% AFUE natural gas furnaces. Another hghly recommended contractor said that the Infinity 21's would not work properly with 92% AFUE furnaces and I would need to have 96% AFUE variable speed units. Carrier refers me back to its resellers regarding this question. So, if you can shed any light on this I would greatly appreciative. It does not make sense to install the hybrid heat system in my zip code because the combined efficiency of the SEER21 a/c and 90%+ furnaces actually yields a lower utility bill than using heat pumps as primary heat sources. Thank you!
Regards, Ed Scherer
