So you think you can dance

    Q

    Comments (21)
Good timing. I was just thinking of reviving this thread. Sabra did win. I knew she should, but it still surprised the heck out of me. I thought for sure all the teenage girls would vote their fingers raw for one of their little heartthrobs. I was very sad to see this end, although the season finale was wonderful. Glad I taped it. They brought back the clogger and the odd, little guy with scoliosis. Both brought down the house of course. Mia was probably my fav too, but Wade Robson also did some pretty amazing stuff. There were only a couple of choreographers that didn't seem quite up to the task. I bet they won't be back next year. I agree about the audience voting thing. They have to do something about that. On a few occasions some of the better dancers had choreography that just didn't quite make it. People were voting for dance numbers and not dancers IMO. It still amazes me that people who adore Dancing with the Stars won't even check this program out. Don't understand it. Is it all about watching celebrities making fools out of themselves? K

So you think you can dance - finding episode to download or watch

    Q

Thanks for the link above. Unfortunately, from what I can see, it doesn't actually have videos of the episodes. When I click on an episode, I just get a recap of the episode - no video at all. The 127 video clips are mostly backstage interviews, and brief clips of signature moves by different dancers. Did you see that there were actually episodes to view - maybe I missed that? I hadn't checked tvguide before, but when I went to fox.com or the So you think you can dance website, they also only seemed to have clips - and not many actual dances.

If you think neutrals are boring

    Q

    Comments (14)
I'm with Meghane... yup, neutrals still do absolutely nothing for me. While there were specific objects I liked in every single picture, the rooms as a whole did nothing for me except for the guest room and the daughter's room, both of which featured zippy use of color. I kept thinking "this would be so much prettier with some stronger color". The portrait wall looked particularly strange to me because this isolated mishmash of color (well, some color, many of the paintings were pretty drab too) didn't really have any relationship to anything else. I am sure the washed-out colors must work a lot better in hot South Texas than they would here in New England, where everything looks like that for a third of the year. (Is it a "look" that I'm just too much of a rube to understand to have linen slipcovers look like they'd been wadded up in a laundry basket for a few days and then put on a piece of furniture without ironing?)

I am organizing and tabulating all the statistical information so that at a glance you can see of all the people posted, who has similar and dissimilar tastes.

Advertising and the food industry pay a lot of money for this kind of information.

For instance, 7 out of 41 enjoy chocolate cookies.

Jeez Louise, talk about bored! Seriously, it is kind of interesting.

Don't forget to add the favorite sandwich to your database. I think BLT is out in front.

So now do we have to post our age and gender?? I'm an F and I am age ??. I live on the east coast.

Not to be a party-pooper but given that we were only allowed one choice for each, and that several commented (and I'm sure many others, like me, were thinking) that their answers could change from one day to the next, I don't think any valid stats could come from the data. To cite your example, I'd bet a paycheck that a whole lot more than 7 of the 41 respondants enjoy chocolate chip cookies.

But if you're that bored, I suppose it's something to do! ;-)

Statistical analysis is very useful and interesting. For instance, you may find out whether beer drinkers voted for Obama or Bush.

    You win!

I agree, statistics are interesting, however, I think many, many times they don't reflect the whole story.
For example, these statistics only reflect those who were bored enought to post, frequent a cooking forum (therefore focused on food) and could only choose ONE answer.

    What about everyone else?

"I love statistics, I can usually pick and choose the ones I want and make them say whatever I want them to. (grin) "

Here is how you can use statistics:

It has been found that 100% of coffee drinkers die.
Therefore it can be concluded that coffee can cause death.

What's fun is trying to spot my own answer on the lists.

Yes, I gues I'm bored, too. Hey, I'm at work, so of course I'm bored.

Each time I read a new list, I hope my answer is the only one. I like being unique...even if it's only perceived!
    Anyway, I'm enjoying your boredom.

Yeah I've realized I'm not very unique. And a couple answers, including dessert, I'm struggling to figure out which my answer was without going back the original thread.

And I can't fathom what so many of you are using the doll sized cookware for. :)

LOL Foodona. Well I had to go back to the original thread, think it was on page 4 to check out all those tiny skillets. Smiles. Apparently there was a problem with copying the 1's to make them 12" or 10" or the honking big 14". Hmmm.. bet that could skew a statistic or three.

Dcarch, thanks for your contribution to the CF!

I did something similar on the Home Decorating Forum shortly after getting laid off--so, yes, I was bored. I got several "get a life" emails.

Echooooo, Dcarch aggregated the responses to interrogatories from a previous post that canvassed the CF members on a variety of cooking and food related preferences/favorites.
