I really was wishing I could can it in 8 oz. jars because there's just me and I'd like to have it ready made when I wanted it. No, grainlady, I wouldn't use a non-tested or approved recipe to can. I'm a certified food preserver and know better than that. I will check out that Strawberry Vinaigrette recipe and put some up if I lie it. Right now I'm not getting anything put up or put out. Too many other things going on. Had my faithful little 23 year old car in the shop yesterday for an estimate for repairs for the insurance company of the lady who hit me. Have a new freezer coming early next week so I'm cleaning out the old one and deciding what to do with it. John Deere called with the estimate for repairs on my tractor and hopefully I'll get it back next week. Throw in a couple of doctor appointments and a family reunion in Speedway the day before the 500 race, well things add up. Oh, and I have a smoke detector that is chirping up on the cathedral ceiling in the living room that is causing my dog to have a nervous breakdown. Can't get the garden planted because it still hasn't dried up and we have more storms coming in tonight. Maybe I should convert the garden into a rice paddy.

Here's how I make my asparagus citrus salad-- I used two different recipes but can only find the recipe for the citrus vinaigrette. The key is it is very easy-- and unlike a lot of other salads, I even like this a day later. Citrus Vinaigrette: whisk together the following-- OR I combine in salad dressing jar and shake ¼ cup champagne vinegar ¾ cup olive oil (sometimes I swap in 1/4 c walnut oil) 3 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 3 tablespoon fresh orange juice 1 tsp honey (or to taste) 1 clove garlic, minced ¾ teaspoon chives (or thyme or oregano.. loved all herbs I've tried!), minced ¼ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper Citrus Asparagus Salad Sorry, no amounts here but I’ll say that I am very generous with the asparagus and orange. Enough that every large bite could have both. It is very important that the red onion is cut very thin otherwise it can overpower all else. toss together: spring mix and butter lettuce very thinly sliced red onion (I use a light hand on this-- and keeping them very thin is key) blanched asparagus cut into 1" pieces on the diagonal (should still have some crunchy bite) navel orange segments (I use the really big navels so the segments are a nice size) rough cut walnts salt and pepper (and sometimes I add freeze dried basil.. I think fresh would be too strong) Drizzle with Citrus Vinaigrette and toss again -- this doesn't need a ton of dressing! Top with shaved parmesan (I've used shredded in a pinch) OPTIONAL I like to let the salad sit, dressed for 30 min or so before I add the parmesan. It allows the flavors to blend. Variations/Add ins:: cucumbers, spring peas, avocado, spicy grilled shrimp, chicken, prosciutto, cashews Note: In general, I tend not to be too uptight BUT with this and many other salads, I am a bit of a freak about arranging all the pieces before serving to make sure there are plenty of pieces of asparagus and orange showing and a few pieces of red onion on top. I add the parmesan shaves as the very last step before serving.

Jane_NY, I'm a New Yorker who knows what you are talking about with Trump. I moved to the city in 1982, right around the time that "Dump Tower" opened. I remember how it started as a very expensive rental, beautiful on the outside, but with notoriously cheap finishes and corners cut on the apartments. At the time, I worked in an office with a pregnant woman whose husband's small company was involved in building it. Trump plunged her family into debt with his standard M.O. -- underpay but promise a lot of work. Then when the work is completed, don't pay the final bill, and tell the small businessperson to "go ahead and sue me." If you look into his business history, you'll see that he's constantly having to work with new people as he burns others in his wake. And remember the beautiful sculptural frieze on the Bonwit building that was torn down for Dump Tower? The one he promised to the Metropolitan Museum, but instead destroyed into rubble? I remember talking among a bunch of women about our worst date. One recounted being asked out by a guy who hid being married, was a boorish bore, and against her wishes, insisted on taking her right to her door while insulting where she lived, and then kicked her little dog in the face when he came to the door and sniffed Trump's shoe. I remember when he announced his upcoming divorce to the newspapers before telling Ivana and his children. My friend's daughter went to school with Ivanka at the time, and said everybody felt sorry for her. I felt sorry for Ivanka when she was about 15 and trying to be a model. She was tall but far from model quality. This was before her chin and breast implants, and you just know that the other models who had to work to get where they were must have treated her with contempt. It seemed to me to be kind of cruel to let her go through that, especially when they didn't need the money. But Daddy liked models. With all the money he made or ripped off, the only charitable thing I can recall Trump doing for the city was when he renovated the public ice rink that you can see from his apartment. Even then, he had to plaster his name on it. If there was a public figure from, say, Phoenix, whom everyone from Phoenix said was sleazy cheater and not to be trusted no matter how they appeared on TV, I would be inclined to listen to the people who knew him. I learned long ago that when someone doesn't trust, it usually means that they can't be trusted. I think of this every time I hear him whining about "fake news."
