Love it! Twisted expressions make me laugh hard. I may have shared this before, but I once worked for a boss who gave me such treasures as: We need to throw more wrenches on the fire!; That's the gem in the haystack!; There's the flaw in the ointment!; and my all-time favorite... when I was prepping him for an upcoming business meeting and another co-worker asked to meet with him "I can't do it today. I'm going upstairs with Michelle now, and I'm literally going to be tied up all afternoon!" Of course there are differences among combining similar phrases, substituting a similar (albeit, hilariously inappropriate) word, and just not understanding a word altogether. (Inconceivable!) But these things are my favorite types of humor.

Ironic isn't it! Same thing happened to my sister. She and I were traveling home from a trip. We left early that morning because she had an appointment that afternoon for same test. We ran into car trouble, and she had to have her husband cancel the appointment. When she went a week later, they told her how fortunate she was to have canceled. She would have had to pay for the test because she hadn't cleared the required time... Why the extra day's wait??? Sounds a little tricky, doesn't it! :) ~breezy

Do you have a laundry chute that's just a long upright box, good for only one-way traffic, i.e. you throw the dirty stuff in, to get collected in a basket at the bottom? If you are, or have a spouse, or a friend who is, a handy person, maybe they can rearrange it to make it into a two-way street? If you could get or build a box just the right size to fit into it, you could attach a rope to it, split to attach in three or four places, so that it pulls straight up and doesn't bind. Maybe you could just have the rope attached to a hook just above the top of the chute and pull the box up with some clean laundry. Or perhaps you could fasten a pulley above the middle of the chute, then have the rope pass over it, to allow a pull without hanging your body into the hole. Perhaps you could arrange a second pulley at the top to have the rope slip down beside the box, and you could get a slim weight to attach to the bottom end of the rope when you wanted to pull the clean stuff up, to help lift the load. ole schemer

I've just gone through our annual cybersecurity training at work and this stuff just weirds me out. It's frightening what technology is capable of and how those with bad intent are becoming increasingly adept at harnessing its capabilities for harm. Not that that's what you were addressing, but the whole "world is wired" reality does make me feel quite paranoid at times.
