Anybody watching American Idol?

I haven't watched the beginning this season, but I saw a clip of Jim Carrey's daughter's audition. What a charming girl! She reminds me of someone . . . Julia Stiles, maybe?

I enjoyed last season and hope to catch this year's on a regular basis--if I remember. :-)

I might tune now and then, but (and am I going to get flack for this) I can't stand looking at that Steven Tyler. There is one butt ugly man, and what the he!! was with the purple pimp hat he had on last week. Remember....JMO.

I haven't been watching as often anymore. Too much "bleeping" language so that I can't watch it with the grandkids. You're right about Steven Tyler being butt ugly. His mouth is, too! It used to be my number one favorite TV show. Don't think I'm gonna watch anymore this season. I didn't bother recording it last night.

I started watching again this year. Honestly, when Fantasia won that year, I quit watching. What a travesty that was. Anyhow.......I really like the line up of judges. Harry Connick does tell it like it is. I loved it when he said, you gotta lay off the runs, especially when you're bad at them. I got soooo sick of the "'screaming" that they called singing...and the runs....ugh, stick a fork in my eye. I would much prefer to hear a singer hit a big note at the end, and hold it. I think that's much harder than those extremely overused runs. I don't think Malaya should have made it through. I picked every single guy right. I think the tall girl, with the gap in her teeth should have made it over Malaya. Caleb is my fav guy to win. The girls, hmmmm, I like Jena and MK.

Joann, something there might work IF I had high speed internet. I can't imagine how long a 2 hour show would take to download with the DSL that I have though. I'm really looking for a cable/satellite channel that would rerun the show later.

They have shown three sets of auditions so far. There were some fabulous talents on the first two, and I did like Jim Carrey's daughter very much last night along with a couple of others.

They are not showing so many awful singers like they used to. Just a couple of crazies here and there. Steven Tyler doesn't bother me, he's just a goofball.

We enjoy the program.

Yes watched all so far but missed some last night since the game went over.

Some really great talent so far, impressive. I like the judges, they are all great artists and good judges of that type of talent

We watched the Pittsburgh auditions, I doubt we will watch any more of them. I think Steven Tyler behaves like a pig.

I don't start to watch until they narrow the field a bit. I just can't suffer through the early auditions.

I've watched two nights. Missed Jim Carrey's daughter. It's nice to watch some of the actual talent although I enjoy the train wrecks too. I also enjoy Steven Tyler. No he isn't good looking, but he has style and originality. He is always good for at least a laugh or two.

I've only watched one night.. didn't even know it was on last night. I won't watch on Thursdays unless my NBC sitcoms are repeats.

I like Idol, but don't care a lot for the auditions at this stage... although I agree they showed less bad talent the day I watched then they usually do.

Steven is not much to look at and I think he is kind of creepy too... but I do think he is a decent judge as far as finding the best singers.

I'm one that will come in toward the end. I saw an Oprah interview with Steven Tyler and he is very honest about himself and his past life. He is a very good conversationalist. I like his funky self and they all are solid judges who will probably be more detailed in their criticism this year. I also like when they agree with me. That tells me I am learning from them just like Dancing With the Stars judges gives me a more critical eye.
