Do you freeze fresh or prepared?
Comments (2)I do both. Most of the garden produce (squash, tomatoes, peppers, beans, peas, etc.) I blanch and freeze. When I have bits and pieces of things I make ratatouille, marinara sauce, or a squash casserole and freeze it. When making soups I always make a big batch (soul-satisfying!) and freeze much of it for later. Herb butters also freeze well. Isn't having a freezer for storing your home-grown produce a wonderful thing? I love mine!...See Morefreezing salsa ingredients
Comments (6)I freeze my peppers and tomatoes from the garden until I have the time and amount I need to make salsa. I freeze my tomatoes whole, with the skin on. When I make salsa I pour the bag into the sink filled with hot water and the skin slips off easily. My recipe uses 24 med. tomatoes so I put 12 in a gallon bag, when I make salsa I know that two bags of tomatoes makes one recipe. Works great for me....See Morehow do you use this ingredient?
Comments (11)Debi...here is a recipe that I have used it for: The Salad dressing.... 3 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Oil(or add another Tbsp. of Olive Oil) 1 Tbsp Vinegar (I like a champagne vinegar, but you can use red wine vinegar) 1 Garlic Clove 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard 2 Tbsp Agave Nectar Mix all ingredients together and enjoy. It is really tasty on salad with fresh cut apples or strawberries too. I usually double it, so I can have some left in the fridge for a little while....See MoreFreezing Sauce with Milk Ingredient
Comments (4)Not exactly sauce, but I know you can freeze milk. Once froze some buttermilk left-over from some recipe... WHY is the smallest container of buttermilk a quart?!? When it thawed, looked curdled... I tossed it. Found out later a spin in blender or vigorous whisking would have brought it back....See More- 18 years ago
