I had seen the Infomercials on TV, YogaLady, but never new anyone who had one until my friend received hers. I swear she has cooked in it every day since and just raves about it and about all the great meals she has done (she also shares pictures since she lives several hundred miles away now). She says she could be a great salesman for them, and so far I think she's convinced 3 or her friends (including me). Last night, I did pork cutlets (dipped in egg/milk mixture then rolled in bread crumbs - the pork cutlets were still half frozen when I put them on and I cooked them 8 minutes on the first side then 7 minutes on the second side). They were extremely juicy and very good! I also did a squash recipe where I pre-cooked the squash, then mashed it with a little butter, olive oil, brown sugar, sea salt, course ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper. I could have done it the same way in my conventional oven but it did cook a little faster in the NuWave. I also buttered buns for the pork cutlets and browned the insides in the NuWave (in about a minute and a half). So far I'm really liking it and anxious to try some fancier recipes!

Yes I have one and it"s the best thing ever.Had it for six years .use it and sometimes I forget to but it"s on my countertop and I know it's there if I need it.

I bought a predecessor to the "NuWave" type oven many many years ago when they were the infomercial rage. Bought it at Malwart, Kmart or one of the discount stores. Basically a tabletop convection oven. I've been extremely happy with it and used it a lot. Saw the "new improved" versions and picked up one of the infrared versions about a year ago but haven't actually opened it up yet.

I opted to get the different style than the NuWave. I got the one that is essentially a big bowl with the fan/heater lid sitting on top and I don't regret that at all. I find it great for a few things and good for a lot of things. Whether I'll find advantages to the new one remains to be seen. I do wish they had a switch to turn off the fan and just have heat for things like melting cheese. Would be helpful.

I just got a new Kitchen Aid oven a few months ago that is convection oven~~the microwave attached to it is all so some type of convect thing~~~even came with a browning pan for the micro. Would that all be kinda the same idea as what you all have?

How easy to clean are those things??

Hubby ordered a NuWave oven one year, we took one look at it, taped up the box and returned it. It looked like it was made of thin metal, very cheesy.

That's very odd jannie. Doesn't sound like the same thing I have at all. There actually doesn't appear to be any metal on my NuWave, other then the drip pan in the bottom, the baking rack, and the area around the heating element. The dome is made of acrylic and the base and top are a heavy plastic like material. They do make more then one appliance. Maybe the item you made was one of their other appliances. Or, maybe they've just changed over the years.

Mine is very easy to clean. You put an inch or so of hot water in the bowl, a squirt of dish liquid, put the top on and turn it on for 10 min or so. It splashes around and unless something is really baked on, it pretty much self-cleans. Otherwise a quick scrub and it's clean.

Mine has a metal band around the lid, otherwise it's glass and plastic. This is nothing like a toaster oven.
