Does anyone have the Wii Exercise package? Hard to get out and just walk here when it's in the single digits. I'd like to hear more about the Wii.

I have the Wii fit, and I like it. You can chose the exercise you like to do the most, and it becomes one of your "favorites". It also keeps track of your progress ( or not) of the peramiters you set at the beginning, as far as weight loss, etc.
chisue, is that what you meant by the exercise package? or is their another one for fitness?

clairdo, I've found that you have to "do the stance", as if you were really playng on a tennis court, only without having to run around! Get in the stance, and move as though you were really playing outside. Some people take a few steps as though they were really bowling, when they play that. I stand sideways to the screen to play golf, etc. you get the idea.

just a little FYI for all the wii owners...netflix is going to soon offer unlimited movie/tv show streaming via your wireless wii internet connection for $8.99 a month!

also 2011 will bring a new Wii, most likely HD and netflix is rumored to be moving up to HD movie streaming via wii also :-) gotta love the wii! ~ liz

I love the Wii Fit Plus. It's fun and doesn't feel like you are exercising. Time flies by.

Bigbaby and our youngest son got a Wii fit plus right after Christmas. They both love it. It's an excellent way to be active when it's way below freezing outside.

Thanks, everyone! That's what I meant: the Wii Fit Plus. Target advertised it for about $90, but were out of it when DH and I finally got into the store to look at it.

I just didn't want another 'thing' that doesn't get used. Memories of the NordicTrac that became a clothes rack until we sold it. At least this isn't expensive. Maybe we can add some games DGS would enjoy. Maybe DH can re-letter in tennis. LOL

The Sports Resort is a little costly, as, a motion accessesory is needed for that game. It's fun, but active!
I recently bought the Carnival game ($30.00 at Target) and it is great! Regular remotes are used, and it is all the arcade, and carnival games. Lots of fun for everyone.

I would love to have Wii Fit, but can't afford the game system and the Wii Fit game right now. Maybe someday.....

We got the Wii and a few games for the boys for Christmas.....I want the Fit..and will get that at the end of February when I get paid...I think the price of the Fit is worth it..it's the $40 and $50 for some of the games!!

Hubby wants Tiger Woods10, we rented it for 5 days from blockbuster..the boys wanted Call of Duty..which we rented and realized it wasn't any better than the other little "war" cheapy one I got them for Christmas..I highly recommend renting a game before purchasing, if the game is at the $40-50 range. We will likely get the Golf game, he's really enjoying it, and plays a few games a night. Has to go back tomorrow....

I want the new Winter Olympics Sonic/Mario...they had a demo at Walmart..it was fun!!

Barb-If you buy just the Wii ($199) it comes with Bowling, Tennis, Baseball, Boxing and Golf. Just playing those games give you a mini-workout! Then the Wii Fit is about $99.

Clairdo-Act like you are really playing tennis and hold the remote like a racquet.

We bought the Wii game "Just Dance". It is hysterical! You have to follow the moves of the dancer on the screen. 2 people can play against each other (you get points for doing the moves correctly)They have about 25 songs-variety of decades/artists. My girls LOVE it and it's good exercise!

We also have Wii Fit and while I think it's good to get you up and moving, most of the sessions are only a few minutes long, i.e. Step class, not great for real exercise, unless you can keep grouping activities and continue for 30 minutes or so. But compared with just sitting on the couch it's good!

I got the Wii game Just Dance yesterday for my birthday..Its an evil evil game that is trying to kill me...But I can't stop playing it~~~way too much fun!

Do you need the Fit platform for Just Dance??

As Ron said, we got the Wii and the Fitness Plus package at Christmas and I LOVE it. OMG, it is so much fun. I have lost 5 pounds and 3 inches so far and have been doing it for a little less than 4 weeks. That dance one sounds fun, too. How much was that one?

Terri you don't need anything other than the remote and a good strong heart and lungs and every other muscle in your body..

WOW bigbaby, you're doing great. I have Fit Plus too, but I'm very lame about doing it everyday. I waste my time on the Carnival games and trying to do the "Just Dance", one. I got mine from Amazon.com.for $30.00. IMO, you really have to practice that Dance game!! I'm too slow to keep up, so far anyway. Between the computer and the Wii, my house is suffering! But it's much more fun than silly housework.
