Hi everyone,

For tomorrow's workday, I'm taking orange flavored iced tea and my first ever crumb cake. It's baking with the topping on right now and it smells like a success so far :-). Wish me luck!

I got the recipe from Gooseberry Patch. We have several cookbooks from them, but I got this one from their website.

You got it, chase! Cheesy Bacon Mushrooms 16 oz. pkg. mushrooms, stems removed and finely chopped 1 onion, chopped 1/4 c. margarine 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese (I'll be using Cheddar instead) 3 oz. jar bacon bits (I'm just going to cut up some bacon slices) 1/2 to 1 c. dry bread crumbs. In a skillet over medium heat, sautÃÂ© mushroom stems and onion in margarine until tender. Remove from heat; stir in cheese, bacon bits, and crumbs, mixing well. Spoon mixture into mushroom caps; place in an ungreased 13" x 9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Recipe courtesy of Gooseberry Patch. Brad AKA Moonwolf

Brad, I had to dig DEEP into my recipe box to find it -- I haven't made it in so long! We always made this dip for parties and served it with fresh veggies and tortilla chips for dipping. ------------------------------------------------------- Hot Broccoli Dip 1/2 cup margarine 1 small/med. onion, chopped 1 10-oz frozen chopped broccoli 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 8-oz jar cheese whiz 4 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped 1/8 tsp garlic powder Microwave broccoli in box. Drain thoroughly. Saute onion in margarine in 2 quart glass dish in microwave. Add all remaining ingredients and mix together, microwave 2-3 minutes or until cheese melts. ------------------------------------------------- I recall often making substitutions: - using butter rather than margarine - using Velveeta cheese rather than Cheese Whiz - using pickled jalapenos rather than fresh Everyone always loved it! :)

Mustangs, that cooling rack came from a local thrift store years ago. I use it all the time when I bake.

Like you need luck! HA! Mustangs put it well. It's people like me that need the luck buddy. :)

Interesting rack. Do the legs fold up on it? Can't really tell. You never know what you'll find at the thrift stores. Especially when you have luck! ;)

BTW, I've seen some of the Gooseberry Patch videos and recipes. They have some interesting ones.

Cynic, no, the legs do not fold up on this rack, and it's very sturdy, indeed. I just love looking around at the thrift stores. You're right, when you find what you're looking for or are surprised by finding something else that you like, you always have a good time.
