How many of you still use roof antennas for TV reception?

We do and it looks like we are the last of a dying breed. We had to find a new rotor or rotator today because our old one froze up. We finaly found one at Radio Shack after calling around and searching online. The young kid didn't know what the heck we were talking about, but we had the catalog number so they found it.

We live way up in the Santa Cruz mountains and even after 22 years they still haven't run cable up this far. When we first moved here we had one of those huge satellite dishes. Last 5 years we have had Dish first and now Directv. But we have always had the antenna as back up and to get local channels that the small dish services don't carry. It comes in handy like the other night when we kept losing signal because of a storm. And if DH's lay off is permanent, we might drop Directv and save $70 a month.

We noticed on the drive to the store that we did not see a single antenna on a house roof and that was a 5 mile drive. I just wondered if we were the only ones.
