Well, it's 39 degrees here this morning. And tonight they predict going down to 37 so it'll definitely be around 30 here at my place - so another freeze. And Monday night is still looking frosty. But...after that - should FINALLY BE WARM enough to plant out annuals, etc. So very tired of wrapping everyone up. I had taken a chance mid-week and planted out my Yvonne's salvia. So last night I had to cover them. And again tonight. And most likely Monday night. In the misty mornings my place looks like some kind of ghostly graveyard what with all the sheets and such. Hope everyone else will make it through this cold snap. Now if someone would just SEND US SOME RAIN. We haven't had any rain for nearly 10 days and we really need some. Everyone around us gets it but it always dissipates when it gets close to Stark county. aaaarg! Kris (who is always complaining about something) ;-D

Yeah, my understanding is that most of the wineries downstate actually import most of their grapes from vineyards in the high plains, Permian basin because of quality issues. High and dry, cooler nights. Those guys passing off "our" grapes as their own is fine by me, so long as the wine tastes good. ;)

Oh, the road part was true...ish. It was in the paper, but it happened in Texas. The homeless guy died, though, and the driver was caught and convicted. Just like with most of the fiction on TV and film, there's a lot of inspiration from the news. Especially like this where it's a truth is stranger than fiction thing. But that's different from the kind of near-truth you see in a docudrama or something, where the story is fictionalized but the facts are mostly preserved.

Sultry, this definitely took us by surprise. Usually doesn't get this cold up here until December at least. I was not aware buddha's hands had seeds, but then, I've never eaten or grown one. I had a friend who lost her 10-year-old one in SW FL in 2010 when temps went down to 25 for a couple of nights. She tried to wrap the trunk to cover the graft area and above, but it didn't work. They're just very tender, I guess. I have brugs just settting blooms, so I don't know what to do about those. One is almost 7 feet tall, so I can't cover it. Do you think they'll be o.k.? I thought maybe I would just pull a pillowcase down over the buds.

I would love to be caught up to speed on this show. I watched part of the first season and that was it. Do you think I could come into it now and still not be lost? What a play on words, huh?

Watch the season 3 finalt tonight and I think there might be a recap show before the premier tomorrow night. You are better off having seen the other seasons, but it won't be too horrible to not see them. One of my friends started in the middle of season 2 and he wasn't too confused.

If you have the time, read the episode recaps on abc.com so you can see what happened on each episode that you missed.

It is an awesome show and I really hope that season 4 lives up to season's 1 and 2! Season 3 didn't get really good until the last 7 episodes.

We'll probably watch it...but I'm really getting tired of having 6 new episodes...then a 6 month hiatus.

It's making me loose interest.

It had better be good.

I wish it was like "the old days"...when the new show started in the fall and went until spring.
