Food Saver.... did I get a deal... or a dud??

I just purchased my first Food Saver. I have never used one, nor have I ever seen one.... only heard what you wonderful people on the Cooking forum have said about them over the years.

Now... my dilemma.... I saw one on the sale table at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was marked down several times (from $175 down to $34.98). It has no accessories, no owners manuel, NOTHING! They did say that I can take it back if I don't like it or if it doesn't work.... although they said that it should work as it was just their display model (not one that had been returned).

The model is Food Saver V2840. It has buttons for Speed (high, normal), Food (moist, dry), Auto Function and Manual function. I have sent an e-mail to the company to see if they could provide a manuel (either snail mail or download). Still waiting to hear back from them (just sent it today).

So..... did I waste my money by getting this floor model with no accessories? Are there items that should have come with it that I will need?

Thanks for any suggestions that you can give me!
