Whirlpool Cabrio Balance Rings balance problem
Comments (44)I have whirlpool cabrio having same issue unbalance on spin cycle. 1st i replaced suspension rods.....still unbalanced. 2nd change out bearings and shaft....still unbalanced. 3rd changed out motor stator.....still unbalanced. 4th changed out sensor.....still unbalanced. Did some research, and what i found is some washers will have a counter balance ring located on top of basket. It is filled about half way with liquid and factory seal. Some have a removable counter balance ring and some models are permanently attached to stainless steel tub. Our model has the permanently attached ring. and has liquid in it. The bottom part of the basket is another plastic molded ring, and has water in it. I understood the the water in the top ring ,but didn't understand water in the bottom ring. I did some research and found that many different manufacturers of washing machines only had a counter balance ring located on the top of washer and done on bottom........was there suppose to be water in the bottom ??? Did more researching and found a video that i guy, like myself with the same issues and changed out the same parts and still had unbalance issues. He had water in the bottom plastic ,and he drilled where the two mold plugs were and drain out water and reseal holes.........no more issues! So I said what do I have to lose, and did the same thing......RESULTS NO UNBALANCE!...See MoreWhirlpool Cabrio
Comments (36)If Lowes sold the Oasis, I'd have one in my home right now. I don't like the looks of the Cabrio or that lint thing on the top. It's ... ugly to me compared to the Oasis, and would be right near our kitchen totally visible. It's ludicrous for Sears to charge $450 for it's 5 yr warr for the 2 items while Lowes charges $199. I would never pay 25% of the cost of the machines in ext warr nor would I buy these machines without a warranty. Total catch 22. We need a TL due to room size constrictions and should really buy the F&P but probably won't. In the end, the canyon size Cabrio would work better for us and the porcelain top would wear better from what it looks like. I just don't know what to do. Steve R...See MoreCabrio or Fisher Paykel
Comments (14)As I said before, I've had my Cabrio HE since March and not had a single problem. I think it just depends on if you are lucky and get a machine that works well, that goes for every brand out there. I had a Bosch first, actually two of them. The first one smelled like it was burning so Lowes took it back. The second one shook my whole house, after it was leveled several times by multiple people. It also did not wash well at all, it was no where near as good as the Cabrio is. I guess I could say nasty things about Bosch, but I would guess there must be good machines out there since so many people swear by them, I just did not get a good one. Just be sure you can exchange or return your machine without paying a fee, And get the extended warranty. Honestly, with the way thing are now a days, if you don't want to worry about your washer breaking, you could try hand washing everything! When I was researching my washer purchase there were very few machines that people did not have horrible complaints about, and those that I could not find complaints about, I also could not find much info on so I would guess there were not many complaints because not many people own them. I could not even find them in my local stores to look at. Just buy what you feel comfortable with, fits your budget, and has the cycles you really need. And don't forget the warranty. Good Luck! By the way, Whirlpool first introduced the Cabrio in 2000, I think that if they wanted nothing to do with this machine they would have stopped marketing them at some point in the past 7 years rather than working on improving them....See MoreWhirlpool Cabrio Dryer Leaks Lint
Comments (2)Look down at the bottom of the lint screen holder and check for buildup or objects preventing the screen from seating properly and allowing lint to slip under or around it. One would think if there is enough to coat both sides then a larger amount is getting past and clogging the vent hose and outlet too....See Morelulundave
