We had a wonderful holiday! TannaÃ¯Â¿Â½s back in school today and we are cleaning house and putting Christmas stuff away.

The girls had a blast. I think Trace got a little overwhelmed just with the whole ordeal then of course neither she or Tanna slept the night before so by 10:00 Christmas morning she had a melt down and went back to bed. It was so hard not to overwhelm them and try not to shove every special memory we wanted with them into the last two weeks.

Santa came and spoiled them rotten! :0) Tanna got a new bike that she loves. Trace got a new big wheel that she plays bumper cars with. Tayler got a ton of toys and fun things. She likes the boxes and bows more than her toys.

They got a bunch of new clothes, toys and books. Tanna has asked for her own room so we are in the process of making that happen.

The girls loved the whole Santa thing....not only did he bring them their big gifts but Mrs. Claus brought them new pajamaÃ¯Â¿Â½s and bubble bath and the reindeer brought them new coats, hats, gloves, snow suits and sleds. I had a blast putting those together. I made special tags from Mrs. Claus that were very pretty and glittery and then the reindeer had hoof prints on the tags. The girls loved it.

We took the girls sledding yesterday and after noses and toes were frozen we came back to the house and watched movies and got Tanna ready for school today.

WeÃ¯Â¿Â½ve had a blast but am IÃ¯Â¿Â½m glad things are back to somewhat normal.

Depending upon her age, you could ask your daughter and follow her preference for her room. If the issue for you is the visual of it rather than spacing: With curtains on the window that hide the side window frames, you couldn't tell that wall behind the headboard is not as wide as the headboard. That might help the visual vibe. If you like the no curtain open window look, you could use both sheers and a pair of drape panels for each window and only cover the side window frames, leaving the shears in the middle to "cover" the window itself. Alternately, you could use a double rod and have the sheers on the inner rod and have the option to leave the curtains or drapes open or closed. You might also consider a different option: Change the bed to a metal frame (with wheels) -- without any headboard or foot board -- and use the window to the right of the chest of drawers as a headboard -- leaving the other windows unadorned, use curtains to create a theme at the head of the bed that represents your daughter's current interest.

since she's under 2, I don't think you have to worry about a desk yet. I'd have fun and redo the walls and bring in accessories. Doing the wall by her bed, and/or the opposing wall would be nice. here are some ideas: paint the walls a soft blush/mauve (or whatever color you like), get some flower decals, shelving, little chairs board and batten? some peel and stick wallpaper? a cute swinging chair? some fairy lights? I think this one is pretty. one wall w/the paper, and the other walls coordinating color. bring in some fun play objects like the tent w/the furry rug, little lights, stuffed animals. for that bare wall, I think you could set up a doll house, or toy kitchen, tea set, whatever she likes. maybe a reading area? display the books.

I loved having the girls home and the wonderful little vacation we had but boy was I ready for today to get Tanna back in school and us back in a routine.

I'm so glad to see this post by you. I just knew your Christmas with the girls would be fantastic. What a cute idea of having Mrs. Claus and the reindeer give presents too. You are making wonderful memories for those girls of yours. Now mommy, you need to think up some cute things for Groundhog's day, then Valentine's day.
