Drbeanie, thanks for the kind words! I grew up in a 50s ranch, and swore never to live in one again. When I moved to Columbus, I rented the upstairs of a victorian house with a friend until buying my own house eight months later...though that house was rented, the owner got it from his aunt, and many original features were still there, though he was loath to do more than basic maintenance. There is a link above to another Victorian I missed out on, but this house was the next best one I saw in my searches. It turns out that I had looked at a 1.5 storey house which sits diagonally across the street from this one, and had paid no attention to this one. Columbus has several victorian neighborhoods (German Village and Victorian Village), but houses there were either too small, or at the very top of my price range, so I kept my eyes open in other older neighborhoods. There is one, Olde Towne East, just outside downtown where I could have bought a large Victorian with many original details for around 25k, but back in '87, you would have been taking your life in your hands and throwing it away to walk outside in that area even in the afternoon. That area now, is fast gentrifying, but there are bad areas still around it--I think you can get a house there now for around 350k. Sorry to go on so--the shade in the upstairs hall was found in the attic, the fixture in my bedroom with the painted shades, I got at a yard sale for $10...the central shade in the dining room, and two matching pendant shades in the pantry, I got from an antique mall for $25...the kitchen shade (need a decent pic of it), but it is sort of bee-hive shaped white glass with brown drapery similar to the parlor shade, I believe I got for $15. Hmmm. Should be between between 110v and 125v. Higher voltage is too much power so it'd run hot and kick-out on overheat protection, maybe pretty quickly, maybe almost instantly. However, seems odd the reading is so much over the norm. An earlier model uses a 230v pump, the motor board on it has components to increase the voltage for the pump circuit even though the machine connects to a standard 120v power outlet. Your board doesn't do that for the pump circuit, although it may produce higher voltage for other circuits. Anyway, you've confirmed the board is outputting power to the pump circuit. Check again on the connector down at the pump to confirm power is getting all the way there to rule out a broken/shorted wire. The only other check is a resistance reading on the pump (7 ohms, you've already done that). I have no suggestion other than replace the motor board again. You said the board had already been replaced once. Is it new enough to be covered by a parts warranty of sorts?

javiwa - those are gorgeous, kudos to DH! DH made most of ours, fairly quickly and certainly cost effectively, if you are at all handy. Basically, it's a small piece of wood with a channel, screwed into the drawer, and then either plexiglass or thin wood slid into the channel. I still have to tackle our shallower drawers. Soooooo a year and a half later…and while my LG 3900 FL washer is in general a wonderful washer, it unfortunately has gone from extraordinarily quiet on high spin speed to sounding like a helicopter landing on my house! I started noticing this a few months ago, when it did this sporadically (and thinking it was a few unbalanced loads) and now it is SUPER noisy on final spin all of the time. Even the spins between the rinses are somewhat noisy too! Also, my son is disabled and is incontinent and drools, so he wears bandanas for drool and sometimes wets through his clothes. I had always exclusively used the Sanitary cycle for all his clothes with “bodily fluids”, and it used to get these super soiled clothes super clean! But recently, I’ve been noticing his clothes coming out smelly….just didn’t smell anywhere near as clean as they used to be! And another thing, I’ve had other front loaders in the past, and I’m quite amazed at how LITTLE water this particular machine uses! Particularly on the Sanitary cycle! My past, smaller front load washers used more water than this enormous capacity washer does! Anyway, I switched my son’s clothes to the Bedding cycle with the steam option (also, uses shockingly little water….for a Bedding cycle at least!) and while it’s a little better, I still notice a faint smell on his clothes when they come out of the dryer. I use Kirkland powder detergent…one tablespoon for 1/2 load and two tablespoons for a full load (and FYI…it’s very hard to fill this washer completely full…even with the laundry my son generates….it is HUGE!!! It’s definitely one of the pros of this particular washer!) Also, I put white vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser and sometimes mix Kirkland fabric softener with the vinegar. Anyhoo, thought I’d report back and see if anyone has any advice/input regarding these issues. Maybe I need to use a different/better detergent?? Thanks in advance! :)
