Frying chicken

I eat a lot of chicken, I marinade with italian dressing or teriyaki, I use blackening or lemon pepper powders, etc.

Other than when I make breaded chicken, I always cooked this chicken out on the BBQ, but now I live in a condo and lost that ability.

My Mother said to just fry the chicken in a little bit of oil, to keep the oil hot so that it doesn't soak in.

I tried this and it came out very good, but I am wondering what the real world difference is between frying and BBQ chicken? How many more calories and how much more fat am I consuming by frying?
