Any one have all knobs or pulls on doors but knobs on drawers

We were thinking of doing knobs on the doors and Pulls on the drawers and the cabinet maker ordered the one we selected. But yesterday they delivered the cabinets and the cabinet maker showed me a problem. We have a set of drawers that are narrow and the pulls we ordered are to big for them. Now we have three options

1)new ones for all

2)decide on using knobs for all

3)uses pulls for doors and knobs for drawers.

My husband wants go the last option route but I am having a tough time visulizing how that would look. I am worried that it may look weird. So if any one has all knobs or pulls on doors but knobs on drawers can you please post pictures.

Also in this situation what option would you chosse?

In my past three kitchens, I've had knobs on the drawers. Not sure why...it just kinda happened that way. Maybe I didn't know that pulls existed until I found this website!

I personally wouldn't reverse them, but only b/c I prefer knobs on cabs--not pulls. If your cabinets are in, you can easily tape them on just to see how they look. I'd probaly either do knobs for all, or, b/c variety is fun, do knobs on cabs, pulls on all drawers but the little one, and then knobs on the little ones.

Thanks Francy. I will try the blue tape. The cabinets were delivered yesterday. They start installing them today afternoon or tomorrow.

I have a pantry run in a hall just off the kitchen of stacked cabinets also. There are 4 doors top and bottom in 2 'pairs'. The lower are 56" and the uppers 22". I had also seen the 4 knobs clustered look but did not like it. Looking through photos I found one on a cabinet site where the lower doors had handles in the middle. http://www.canaancabinetry.com/gallery_7.php Since I was using handles on my drawers I tried it out by cutting out black construction paper knobs and handles, puttng tape rolls on the backs, then moving these "paper pulls" around my kitchen. Tried the all-knob look but liked the bigger handles on the long doors better (my pulls are 6.5"). So the pantry has knobs on top and pulls on the lower doors. Oh, my long doors also have a raised piece of wood panel across the middle like they are divided in two, so it lines up with the middle of that. Try playing with the paper dolls... I mean PULLS. It helps! :) Good luck!

Thanks guys, I've been watching cooking shows today and obsessing over hardware! Guess what, America's Test kitchen used knobs on drawers so it must be ok! (or maybe it was the other show I watched?) I wanted a real mix of hardware, yes I love yours Igloo, but I made too many other choices! I got too tired out. DH will be around tomorrow for install so I told him to decide on placement FOR me! Yes, "decision prison" LOL!! I'm refusing to decide on a backsplash for now, even though we have a history of never finishing everything! I think I would just pick something safe, which might be ok, but I don't want to regret it later. Sooo anxious to see it in real life and see if it all comes together!!!!

I put pulls on all of my integrated appliances, including WD, so that there would be a visual cue that it was an appliance, especially the fridge drawers and WD, since the coolers and DW have their shapes for cues. You don't have to do that! If you want your WD to look like a regular drawer, put a knob on it! My WD is Monogram, but as far as I know it's like any other WD--there's a gasket that creates the only seal, and it's not a pressurized seal, and the drawer itself is very light weight. There's actually more to pull against in my regular drawers with the springs on the soft closers than on the warming drawer, so a knob would be perfectly functional. I don't know if my pull looks funny by your definition (looks fine to me, but it's your beholding eye that counts):

The cabinet hardware doesn't have to match the stainless. What style is your kitchen? A picture would help with suggestions. If you use knobs on the cabinet doors, it should not look like metal overload. Depending on the style, even pulls on the doors may be fine too. We have a traditional kitchen with stainless appliances. I used antique nickel hardware. It's still in the silvery color, but muted, and the shape is not sleek, so doesn't look anything like the appliances. This is the first kitchen I've ever had with cabinet hardware. We've always had finger-pull cabinets before, and I won't ever have them again if I can help it. I love the hardware. It's so much easier to use than grabbing the cabinet door/drawer.

I agree with Francy about putting knobs on just the little drawers. But, I had to laugh because when she was saying what she had in her last three kitchens, I started trying to remember mine. I couldn't even remember what was on the drawers in my LAST kitchen that just got pulled out a month ago! And I lived with that kitchen for 11 years! I guess I'm trying hard to block it out of my head. :)

I like the pulls on doors/knobs on drawers design. Like you, I had a few drawers that were small with panel fronts and the pulls were too big. The same for my slide out cabinets, which were very thin.

I ended up putting knobs on some and left the pulls on the others and it looks fine. It's a complete non-issue and everything came out great! Look around the lower part of of my kitchen. The small facing drawers have knobs and the larger ones along the sides have pulls.

Knobs on the uppers-all doors, pulls on the lowers-mix of doors and drawers. Here's my reasoning: the pulls won't catch on my clothing or on the grandkids...and it's easier to put the child safety cabinet locks through the pulls.

I don't know if either of those issues apply to you but our 5 visiting munchkins range in age from 12 months to 9 years so we needed to consider their safety in some of our decisions.

I'm in the process of marking off the hole so DH and I can install the hardware tonight when he gets home...if I absolutely hate it I'll let you know.

That's my 2-cents worth.

Check out Sherrilea's kitchen, she has knobs on the very shallow drawers and cup pulls on the rest of the drawers.
