You can have new doors made in any style you want and then paint to your preferred color. When I was looking for cabinets, it seemed that Shaker style and painted finishes were only available in higher end cabinets. There are several companies on the internet who specialize in making new cabinet doors. My GC had a local source who made mine although I got bead board.

If you would consider thermofoil, i ordered Ultracraft Mission II. I'm sure they have painetd white as well, but they would be more expensive.

I haven't used them, but people here have recommended Scherr's. Some people have used Ikea boxes and Scherr's doors. I got a quote from them for my (future) remodel and they were very reasonable I thought.

You can get the basic instock cabinets from Lowes or HD and buy shaker doors online. The shaker style is the cheapest, too. I did this for some cabinets in my kitchen. They were only temporary and I eventually sold them, but I painted them and they looked very nice. I used the oak cabinets from Lowes. Of course, IKEA cabinets are still cheaper than the cheapest cabinets at the big box stores.

So you could go w/ the incredibly sturdy and phenomenally easy-to-install Ikea cabinets, and add these doors.

or you can go w/ the OK and very-standard-in-size Mills Pride cabinets, and add these doors.

Or you can just put these doors on the cabinets you've got.

If you've got a construction pro on your side, you could get ready-to-assemble cabinets (search "RTA cabinets" for other options as well) from CabParts.com (they only sell to the trade, and they offer very little hand holding), but a contractor who used to post a LOT on our sister Remodeling forum swore by them. And they will do custom sizes if you want them. They have a very limited set of basics for doors.

Do any of you out there have pictures you could share of shaker style, inset cabinets that are not painted white? I was leaning towards the classic white cabs, soapstone counters, butcherblock island for the longest time. Now that we're getting closer to having to make decisions, I am wondering if we ought to go with a very light green or taupe. Thanks.

I just did some sleuthing around Ikeafans and found this interesting post from someone who painted their Tidaholm doors. She says if she had it to do over, she'd have bought IKEA cabinet boxes and shaker style doors from Scherrs. Anyway, a very intersting point.
